Little Lights is thankful to local teens for blessing our students at the Jubilee Center with books and beautiful music!

On Saturday, students from DC International School brought a Little Free Library to the new Jubilee Center site. Thank you for helping to promote literacy and access to literature across the district!

We are also grateful to the musicians from The Back to BACH Project for inspiring our students through a wonderful classical music performance!

Little Lights recently welcomed a new staff member, Antwan Wright!

Antwan is the Assistant Program Coordinator at the Jubilee Center and is from southeast Washington, DC. He has served at Little Lights for many years as a member of our part-time staff, but in his new full-time role Antwan will help to ensure afterschool programs run smoothly at the Jubilee Center.

Antwan shared that he is "excited to join the Little Lights team because I've always dreamed of working with youth from areas similar to mine."

Fun fact about Antwan - he is a Philadelphia Eagles fan!

We are excited to welcome Antwan to the Little Lights team!

In 2023, we purchased an old church building in DC’s Ward 7 and named it the Jubilee Center. After significant renovations and fundraising, we launched programs at the new 6,000 square-foot site in January 2026!

While we have been the recipients of incredible generosity from donors over the last three years, the work is not yet done. We have raised over $3.2 million of our $4 million goal, leaving just over $700,000 left to raise. This remaining funding will enable us to finish needed renovations, pay down our mortgage, and fund program expenses for the first 18 months at the Jubilee Center.

Flip through our 2025 annual report to read more about the impact of the Jubilee Center and to learn how to financially support our students at this new program site.
