This Sunday, a new series begins... 👁️

Wonder: Wide Awake is a series about recovering spiritual attention. It is an invitation to slow down long enough to notice the God who still speaks, still surprises, still calls, still accompanies, still awakens. Together we will explore stories of holy interruption, sacred awareness, and lives transformed by learning to see again.

VBS Week crazies have settled, and what a Masterpiece it was! 🖌️🎨

Students spent the week learning that they are God's Masterpiece, and all together his children are made with love and care! We also helped out our friends at with their Backpack Drive! We ended up collecting over 115 backpacks with help from our congregation.

Thank you to our volunteers, Junior leaders, and staff who helped make this week a work of art; you are so loved. ❤️

🌿 The church is not simply a place we attend. It is a community that forms us.

In a world marked by loneliness, fragmentation, anxiety, and relentless busyness, scripture offers another vision: people shaped by love, sustained by practice, courageous enough to ask hard questions, and carried by communities that span generations.

This August, as Saint Matthew enters a new season of ministry, we ask a deeper question beneath programs, classrooms, ministries, and calendars:
What kind of community actually forms resilient, compassionate, spiritually
grounded human beings?

Formed Together explores the church as a living ecosystem of belonging, spiritual practice, sacred curiosity, and shared responsibility. This is not simply a series about children or families. It is a series about becoming the kind of church where people of every age are welcomed, known, valued, and transformed.

Together we will explore what it means to build a faith that is practiced in real life, nurtured across generations, strengthened by honest questions, and carried by a whole community.

Day 1 of VBS ✅

What a JOY to welcome all of our VBS kiddos to Saint Matthew for the week. Songs, lessons, crafts and games, all reminding us that we are God’s masterpiece!

Exciting progress is beginning at Saint Matthew!
Thanks to the generosity of our Capital Campaign, much-needed repairs to our parking lot will take place Monday through Saturday this week.

A parking lot may not seem like ministry, but ours serves our community every day. It welcomes neighborhood school pickups, 11 AA, Al-Anon, and NA meetings each week, small groups, police trainings, and voters on Election Day. It also serves as a PG&E emergency and disaster response location for our neighborhood. And over the years, countless kids have learned to drive the family car right here in our lots!

These repairs are about more than pavement. They are about caring for a space where people gather, connect, recover, serve, learn, and find support.

Thank you to everyone who has given to the Capital Campaign and made this important work possible. There may be some temporary inconvenience this week, but we are grateful to invest in a space that serves both Saint Matthew and our wider community.
