On November 17, all criminal charges were dismissed against Benjamin Buggs. Mr. Buggs is the founder and director of Faith-Food Fridays, a non-profit organization that provides food to hundreds of Vallejo households every week. The allegations against Mr. Buggs were based on false and unsubstantiated statements from one individual, as reflected by the fact that the Solano County District Attorney’s Office dismissed the case based on the “insufficiency of the evidence.”
The District Attorney’s Office filed charges against Mr. Buggs in October 2024. Since the day that charges were filed, Mr. Buggs has been greatly hindered in his ability to feed the hungry through Faith-Food Fridays. This is because the pending prosecution cost him resources, time, and a significant amount of food donations. Mr. Buggs has always resolutely maintained his innocence and was ready to have his name cleared before a jury of his peers if the case was not dismissed.
Now that his name has finally been cleared, Mr. Buggs is eager to pick up the pace at which Faith-Food Fridays was operating before this ordeal began. He is grateful that this matter is finally behind him and that he can continue his life’s mission of serving the people of Vallejo.
