Why Fight Night?

We call it Fight Night because Ephesians 6:12 says the real fight was never against flesh and blood. The person who keeps getting under your skin is not the enemy. The bill is not the enemy. Something is standing behind all of it, and you cannot put your hands on it.

So the disciples did the one thing that reaches that far. The disciples locked themselves in an upper room and prayed for ten days straight.

Acts 1:14 says the disciples were all in one accord. Acts 2:1 says that when the day of Pentecost was fully come, the disciples were still in that room. Same people. Same place. Nobody walked out early.

That is what winning actually looked like. It didn't look like a fight. It looked like a prayer meeting that refused to quit.

Some of us have been trying to fight what's in our house with everything except prayer. We've tried talking about it. We've tried waiting it out. We've tried outrunning it. We've tried acting like it isn't there.

Saturday night, we go back to the room.

A lot of folks have been scared of Matthew 24 their whole lives.

Taught it like a warning label. Like the darkened sun and the falling stars were there to make you nervous enough to behave for a couple of weeks.

Then you get to verse 31. The lights go out and He shows up. And the first thing He does is send angels to gather His own from one end of heaven to the other.

That is not a threat. That is a pickup.

Wednesday nights are about to look a little different around here.

Beginning September 2nd at 7:00 PM, we’re starting a six-week journey through the Upper Room called STAY IN THE ROOM. Six nights, six words the disciples had to live before Pentecost ever happened: wait, trust, surrender, be prepared, be filled and go boldly.

Our Pastor will open the series, and our elders will carry us the rest of the way.

If you’re in the area join us. Bring your Bible, bring a friend, and bring whatever you’ve been carrying because there’s room for all of it.

This past Sabbath’s Women’s Day was truly one to remember! 💛🙌🏾

Our guest speaker, Elder AJ Bell, delivered a powerful sermon under the title:

𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗛𝗮𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗞𝗲𝘆𝘀? 🔑

Drawing from Abigail’s story in 1 Samuel 25:2–13, she shared 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵𝘀 from Abigail’s life:

•𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗺𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀.
•𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵.
•𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗺𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲.

One resounding statement from the message was:

𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝘆𝘀.

When we do this, we can hinder the change, deliverance, breakthrough, and transformation that God desires to bring into our lives.

The reminder for us all is:

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝘆𝘀, 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗛𝗶𝗺 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀. 🔑🙌🏾🙏🏾

You could feel the presence of the Lord from the very beginning of the service to the very end—in every song, proclamation, acknowledgement, and word spoken. It was truly a blessing!
