SUNDAY SERMON RECAP

Today, from the sanctuary of Greater Pleasant Temple Missionary Baptist Church, we were reminded that when God has done something real in your life, you don’t have to convince everybody else that it happened.
In John 9, the man who had been born blind found himself standing before people who questioned his experience. They wanted him to explain Jesus, defend Jesus, and perhaps even change his story.
But his response was simple: “One thing I do know: I was blind, and now I can see!”
And when they kept questioning him, his attitude was essentially: “I already told y’all!”
That became the heart of today’s message: I SAID WHAT I SAID! - That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it!
We learned four important truths:
1. I DON’T HAVE TO CONVINCE YOU FOR IT TO BE TRUE!
What God has done in your life doesn’t become less true because somebody refuses to believe it. You don’t need everybody’s agreement for God to get the glory out of your testimony.
2. YOUR TESTIMONY DOESN’T NEED THEIR VALIDATION!
The man couldn’t explain everything about Jesus, but he could testify about what Jesus had done for him. Sometimes you may not have all the answers, but you know what you know because you’ve lived it!
3. STOP LETTING PEOPLE MAKE YOU QUESTION WHAT YOU KNOW GOD DID!
There will always be somebody who questions your change, your blessing, your breakthrough, or your testimony. But don’t allow somebody else’s doubt to make you question God’s work in your life.
4. WHEN GOD CHANGES YOU, YOU DON’T HAVE TO GO BACK TO YOUR OLD STORY!
The man was once blind—but now he could see!
And that’s somebody’s testimony today.
You may have been broken—but God restored you.
You may have been down—but God picked you up.
You may have cried through the night—but God gave you joy.
You may have been lost—but God found you.
And when somebody tries to remind you of who you used to be, you can tell them:
“That’s who I WAS. But look at me NOW!”
Today we were encouraged to stop allowing people to rewrite a testimony that God Himself authored.
Before reality television ever gave us the phrase, “I said what I said,” John 9 showed us a man who refused to change his witness simply because people didn’t like his answer.
He didn’t know everything.
He couldn’t explain everything.
But he knew this: “I WAS BLIND, AND NOW I CAN SEE!”
And sometimes that’s all you need to know.
So, Greater Pleasant Temple, stand on your testimony!
Don’t apologize for your deliverance.
Don’t minimize your breakthrough.
Don’t question your transformation.
Don’t let somebody else’s opinion erase your experience with God.
You know what God did for you!
And when they keep asking, keep questioning, keep doubting, and keep trying to make you change your story, just tell them:
I SAID WHAT I SAID!
That’s my story.
That’s my testimony.
That’s what God did for me.
And I’m sticking to it!
