When a new school year starts, it’s a great time to review the vision and foundational pieces of Moms in Prayer. Group leaders can ensure that everyone is on the same page and answer any questions before getting too far into the rhythm of weekly meetings.

"Jesus Wept" John 11:35
Our prayers, sorrows, and compassion go out to the families and communities dealing with profound tragedy when a Tennessee college cyclist team was struck by a vehicle.

Haylan Engdahl and Brayden Rogers, who graduated from Buckhorn High School, were killed. Several others were injured and still hospitalized. Let's continue to keep these families in prayer 🙏🏼

Update: 8/24 Rogers family has specifically requested prayer for peace and comfort. Praying this for both families.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
~Psalm 23:4

A NEW PODCAST: 2 CORINTHIANS 6 & 7 | WE ARE AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST | LAURA RILEY
Whether you’re heading to work, returning home, or settling into a quiet place, take some time to listen and be blessed. To follow along, click the link below and scroll to 2 Corinthians 6 and 7. As you listen, consider Laura’s thoughtful insights she offers:

"It can be easy to just let life happen to us or feel like we are barely hanging on and just trying to get through each day. Yet, we are challenged to live intentionally, to walk in a way that is pleasing to God and to be used by Him. In 2 Corinthians 6 and 7, Paul encourages us to not receive the gift of salvation in vain, but to make the most of what we have been given and to share it with others. We get to reflect the grace of God to those around us and be ambassadors for Christ. Let us not waste the time we have been given."

Listen in as Laura Riley, Louisiana State Coordinator, walks us through these chapters.

Our podcast community encourages & equips Christian moms so we can better pray for and impact our children & schools for Christ.

A BACK-TO-SCHOOL PRAYER FOR TEACHERS - PUBLIC, PRIVATE AND HOMESCHOOL.
Our teachers face numerous challenges, including classroom management (in schools and at home), student engagement and behavior, addressing diverse learning needs, building positive relationships, time management, and ensuring a safe environment. Let’s pray, applying God’s Word, to support our teachers and homeschool parents as they navigate these responsibilities

BACK-TO-SCHOOL PRAYER FOR YOUR CHILDREN
Students of every age are back or heading back to school, from preschool and elementary classrooms to middle school, high school, and college campuses. Last week, we lifted them in prayer during our Back-to-School prayer call. The signs of a new school year are all around us: roads and parking lots are growing busier, and households are settling into new routines. Perhaps, our children’s own school days are behind us, this season offers each of us a needed reason to pray for children and their schools.

Let’s pray for our children and grandchildren, for students everywhere, and for the teachers, staff, and administrators who guide and support them.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Philipians 4:6

A TIME OF THANKSGIVING
I am so thankful for our Statewide Back-to-School Zoom Prayer Call. My heart is full, and I am at peace about the burden I was carrying for our state. I pray that you are also at peace about the concerns you brought as we continue coming to the throne again and again, layering our prayers one upon another. This is how we do our warfare! Let us keep bringing every concern to the throne and asking the Lord to call more women to pray for our children and schools.

There are many valuable lessons the Lord will teach us in the waiting as we use the weapons of warfare He has given us and trust Him to move in ways we cannot. He is Sovereign. He is Jehovah Sabaoth. Yesterday, that spirit of trust and unity was beautifully reflected in a message from one of our prayer warriors in leadership.

It blessed me, and I pray it blesses you too!
"What an honor and a privilege to come before His throne of grace with all my MIP Sisters today! We were a fragrant incense! We didn't sing too bad either 😉😊."

May we continue faithfully in prayer for our children, our schools, and every woman the Lord calls to stand with us.
Blessings,
Teresa

BACK-TO-SCHOOL PRAYER CALL!
We are excited to begin a new school year by gathering for our Back-to-School Zoom prayer call on Tuesday, August 11, 2026. Together, we will pray for our children, teachers, administrators, and school staff while introducing this year’s Moms in Prayer theme: “LOOK TO THE HEAVENS…SEE THE SOVEREIGN LORD,” inspired by Isaiah 40:10a and 26a.

All Moms in Prayer members - new and returning - are encouraged to participate. Gathering in one accord is especially important as schools and colleges across the state begin the new academic year over the coming weeks.

If you did not receive a zoom invite or our prayer sheet, contact your group leader or Teresa at: [email protected]

MEET OUR NEW AREA COORDINATOR: PATRICIA
Moms in Prayer Alabama is excited to welcome Patricia - who likes to be called Tricia - as the new Area Coordinator for Shelby and Bibbs Counties in central Alabama.

PATRICIA'S STORY WITH MOMS IN PRAYER:
Another mom introduced me to Moms in Prayer in April of 2013. Soon afterwards a friend and I felt led to start a Moms in Prayer group for homeschooling families, and we have been meeting ever since. MIP has deepened my prayer life, been my source of support through some very hard times, and given me the dearest and deepest friendships I would not have otherwise had. Studying the attributes of God has increased my faith and confidence in my Lord and praying the scriptures has transformed my prayer life.

Welcome Tricia!
