Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow!
A lovely time was had by all as we celebrated the 160th Homecoming Anniversary of Jerusalem AME Zion Church!
Special thanks go to Sis. Renee Jones, who coordinated the program, and to Min. Robert Willis and Sis. Elaine Wilson, who assisted her.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our preacher for the evening, Rev. Edward Earl Travis, for delivering a powerful and inspiring message. We also thank Rev. Curtis Travis, Pastor of Benville Baptist Church, for participating on the program and bringing members of his church and choir to celebrate with us. The Benville Baptist Church Choir did a marvelous job and truly blessed us through their ministry of music.
Special thanks also go to The New Beginnings Gospel Quartet for blessing us in song; Rev. Warren Williams and Min. Robert Willis for assisting with the service; and, last but certainly not least, Rev. LeAnna Long, who served as our Mistress of Ceremony and did a fantastic job.
We are also deeply grateful to Sis. Bertha Bishop and the Culinary Committee, who labored so faithfully to prepare and serve our meal with excellence. The food was absolutely delicious!
A very special thank you goes to the Mother of our Church, Mother Catherine Russell, for her outstanding fundraising efforts. Through her personal outreach to legacy donors, she raised over $1,000 in support of our Homecoming celebration. Mother Russell, may the Lord abundantly bless you for your faithful efforts, dedication, and love for Jerusalem.
To all of our church members who helped in any capacity, and to all of our family and friends who came out to worship, celebrate, and support us, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You made this celebration so very special!
As we celebrate 160 years of God's faithfulness, we are encouraged to keep on keeping on and to continue building on the solid foundation and the Rock, Christ Jesus.
To God be the glory—great things He has done!
