We are located at Christ Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama - Tuesdays and Wednesdays - 9:30-11:30 AM

Games and more games the last two weeks at Connect! We played all the table games and board games, kerplunk, jeopardy, charades, the price is right, co****le, balloon tennis, balloon volleyball and we even threw in a little movement with paper plates (thanks, Jenny!) 🎲🎲🃏♟️

We will all miss beautiful Annette at Connect. We always loved having her and her husband, Jim, and daughter, Lauren, join us as well as her granddaughter, Neely, who volunteered with us over the summer. Annette was the sweetest and she even won an Academy Award for being “The Sweetest” (see the last clip)! Join us in celebrating her life on Saturday, August 29, at 10:30 at First United Methodist Church in downtown Tuscaloosa.

More from our back to school theme! Our preschool friends joined us in the library for some reading time and Jada wore her school uniform and brought all of the classic recess games including Simon Says, Miss Mary Mack, Mother May I, Freeze and lots of dancing! So much fun!! 📚✂️✏️🚌🖍️

Toni planned a wonderful American Gothic theme this week! 🎨🖌️ The painting, American Gothic, by Grant Wood is probably the most famous American painting. It has been used in countless advertisements and parodies including the opening for the TV show, “Green Acres” (which we sang together)! The people in the painting live in Iowa so Toni made snacks using marshmallows and cornflakes in honor of Iowa and their crops of corn! 🌽🌽 Toni dressed up as the woman in the painting and Libby wore overalls and pretended to be the man. We also listened to the song “Iowa Stubborn” from the hit broadway show, The Music Man. On Tuesday, we painted our own version of the two potted plants on the porch of American Gothic and we created our own parodies of the famous painting. On Wednesday, we did a collaborative mural of American Gothic. The painting was divided into squares and each person recreated a particular square and was able to contribute to the finished mural! We love how it turned out! Also, Forest provided laughter yoga for us on both days which is always a lot of fun!!
