“Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”

Acts 3 tells the story of a man who had been crippled from birth. Every day, he was carried to the temple gate called Beautiful to beg. When Peter and John saw him, they stopped. They looked straight at him. And when Peter spoke, the man expected to receive money. Instead, he received a miracle.

There is a story about Thomas Aquinas appearing before Pope Innocent IV while vast sums of church money were being counted. The Pope remarked, “You see that the church is no longer in an age in which she can say, ‘Silver and gold have I none.’”
Aquinas reportedly replied, “It is true, holy father, nor can she now say to the lame man, ‘Rise up and walk.’”

That statement haunts me.

When did we lose our expectation for miracles, signs, and wonders?
What are the impediments to our belief that God still desires to bring His Kingdom “on earth as it is in heaven”? We pray those words. But do we believe them? When did we become okay with people remaining lost? When did we become comfortable with sickness, addiction, bo***ge, discouragement, and despair having the final word?

I’m sorry, but I’m not okay with it. I will shout it to the heavens: “Lord, I’m not okay with it!”

Over the last couple of years, we have been planting seeds here at First Methodist Church. Seeds for spiritual awakening. Seeds for the “greater things” Jesus said we would do because He was going to the Father. Seeds for a renewed hunger for the Word of God and a deeper thirst for the Holy Spirit. And tonight, we’re going to pray.

You could stay home tonight. You could watch TV, read a book, or do a hundred other things. Or you can come expecting God to move. We are believing tonight for strongholds to be broken, for weary people to be encouraged, for salvation, for healing, for freedom, and for lives to be transformed by the power and presence of Jesus.

We are coming expecting. Will you bind together with us in prayer?

Prayer & Healing Service tonight at 6:00 in the FAC

Someone needs this! Bring them with you!

“What I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”

This Wednesday is our Prayer and Healing service. These services have become an integral part of our DNA as a church. We have received so many testimonies from our previous services and we are believing for EVEN MORE this time! We are blessed to have Tyler Richardson with us again leading worship. Here's three things we would love for you to do leading up to this:
1.) Commit yourself to being there.
2.) Share this with someone you want to be by your side.
3.) Begin to stir up expectation for God to move mightily.
