Day 45,

“His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,”
‭‭II Peter‬ ‭1:3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Today’s devotion is a pretty simple, yet always useful passage: because of our flesh, we will always seek the things of this world, but many of us can attest that the things of this world will lead you to nothing.

Let today be a reminder that God alone has given us ALL things that pertain to life and godliness. there’s nothing in this world that will feed you both of those things.

So with that being said, invest yourself into the knowledge of God today. Take a break from the things of this world, which lead to nothing pertaining life, and focus on the One who gives life.

Day 44,

When God puts us back together there’s more than an external picture of being put back together like a broken vase, or the cleansing of red to white. God does an internal working in our heart, soul, and mind that is a healing of sorts as well.

He wants to reach down into the innermost parts of your soul where no one else can go to mend and fill with grace. To rid you of shame, guilt, sorrow, pain, insecurity, and more. These are works only God can do; no human has the ability to fill your void and depths of the heart.

Jeremiah 30:12 says in one breath that our hurt is incurable, and indeed it feels like that sometimes doesn’t it? But then in the next breath, verse 17, God says He will heal and restore. At first glance it appears these two verses contradict each other, however, it’s more of a message about how proper healing takes place.

Proper healing doesn’t come when we bypass the process and seek the world's comforts. Rather, it comes when we seek God. The difference between healing and not healing lies in the source. You want your heaviness to lift and your soul to feel peace? Then turn to God. Do you desire to feel free from the shame and condemnation? Turn to God. Do you imagine what it feels like to experience wholeness and restoration? Turn to God. He’s the answer to your healing.

When we pursue God we experience grace, restoration, and healing that no past can grip onto. No longer can it hold you back from what God has in store.

Jeremiah‬ ‭30:12‬ ‭
“For thus saith the Lord, Thy bruise is incurable, and thy wound is grievous.”

Jeremiah‬ ‭30:17‬
“For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.”

Day 43 You Cannot Serve Two Masters
It’s easy to get so distracted by what life brings us, that we let ourselves get overwhelmed and putting devotion and time into things that will not benefit us spiritually. The Word mentions several times how we should give our ALL to God.

I think about Peter. How as he was walking on the water and all it took was for him to take his eyes off Jesus for him to fall.

As Christians, things will and always will be thrown at us to keep us distracted. The enemy loves to use distraction as one of his favorite tools. It’s important that we seek after the Lord and when we realize what is keeping us away from God, put it aside. If it’s something such as school, ask the Lord to help you with a balance.

The Lord loves us with an everlasting love and enjoys when His children interact with Him. ❤️

Think about today how you could give more devotion to God and what keeps you away from spending time with the Lord?💭

"No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth”
Matthew 6:24 NASB

29 “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
Matthew 14:29-30

Day 42,

Deuteronomy 31:6 KJV
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Matt 28:20 KJV
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen

It’s easy to feel alone during these times, like you have no one to turn to or there’s no one that understands. It’s easy to let yourself wonder, “where is God” “why hasn’t he moved yet” “I don’t understand what he is trying to tell me”. It is easy to let the enemy place the negative thoughts inside of our minds, but we have to encourage and remind ourselves that we are not alone. God is there for us fighting battles that we don’t even see. We must remember even in our loneliest moments in life, God is there with us always for he will never leave us nor forsake us. We have to hold to the promises that we know, and let him shape us into the individuals he wants us to be.

Instead of suggesting a song of the day, what song are you planning on listening to in order to get you through this week?

Even though your circumstances may make you feel like you are walking through the valley of the shadow of death, you will not fear because you know the Lord is with you. God's goodness toward you will be so visible that even your enemies will see His handiwork upon your life. They will see God’s grace abounding toward you.

What is God's grace? Grace is everything God is and God has made available to you. Rest in that this beautiful Sunday.

“Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.”

Day 40 Follow in His Counsel,

“Our ancestors in Egypt were not impressed by the Lord’s miraculous deeds. They soon forgot his many acts of kindness to them. Instead, they rebelled against him at the Red Sea. Even so, he saved them— to defend the honor of his name and to demonstrate his mighty power. He commanded the Red Sea to dry up. He led Israel across the sea as if it were a desert. So he rescued them from their enemies and redeemed them from their foes. Then the water returned and covered their enemies; not one of them survived. Then his people believed his promises. Then they sang his praise. Yet how quickly they forgot what he had done! They wouldn’t wait for his counsel!”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭106:7-13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

How many times have we been quick to forget what God has done for us? As humans, we are very impatient creatures. Many times we think that we know what is best for us; we decide things without asking God about it first; we don’t wait on His counsel.

But that is the wrong approach. We are human, we are flawed. Many times our decisions are based on our emotions or even what we are able to see, but the truth is that we do not know what tomorrow holds. Only God knows. His ways and thoughts are higher than ours.

“For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55:9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Because of this, we should not be like Israel who did not seek His counsel. We must bring everything, every situation, every problem, and every decision at His feet.

This will give you peace about every decision you have because the One who knows what tomorrow holds is in charge of your future!

Day 39,

I’ve been to the bottom, looking up to find some glimmer of hope. Broken, beaten, ashamed, and confused, reeling from the mistakes I’ve made that brought me to such a low point. I’ve been there even after dedicating my life to Christ. Maybe you have too. In fact, I bet most people can relate to such a place.

You lost all your money from an addiction. You lied or gossiped to your friends and now it’s coming back to bite you. You entered into an emotional relationship with someone you shouldn’t have. The stories and circumstances are endless, but you are not.

Having been lifted out of the grim, wiped clean, and given new hope, I know it’s possible. And after experiencing what I have, I know it’s possible for anyone.

When I think of someone who hit a point where all hope was lost I think of Ruth. She was from a corrupted and sinful country where people were considered too far to ever be accepted by God. She lost her husband before conceiving a child, which in that time was considered a very unfavorable situation. She would travel to an unknown land where she knew no one but her bitter mother-in-law and although she pursued righteousness, she made her fair share of mistakes.

The great thing about Ruth’s story is that it didn’t end in the midst of her trial. We have the fortunate advantage to look at her story from a thirty thousand foot perspective and see the fingerprints of God all over her life. One day we too will see them on our own life and that’s hope for today!

God manifest himself in the flesh and came to Earth to pay the price for our sin and bo***ge, setting us free and allowing us to enter into the family of God as heirs. A new start is possible and a fresh hope is available to you regardless of your past.

“Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.”

Day 38 My Help Comes From the Lord,

“My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭121:2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

In every situation, trial, task, or pursuit of a goal, it’s so easy to feel like you can do it on your own.

But the Psalm puts it perfectly: “My help comes from the Lord...” so I will put my faith and trust in him. why? because HE is the one “who made heaven and Earth.” NOT “ME”!

So in every situation, submit to God’s authority and lean on His helping hand! Trusting God enough to let go is one of the most wonderful things that you can do!

Day 37,

Anxiety. This looming giant in a deep valley threatens, taunts, intimidates, incapacitates, and paralyzes. This giant is real. And it can be deadly.

Anxiety and its cousins—panic, worry, fear and dread—is complex. There are spiritual, mental, physical, emotional, genetic, and circumstantial factors that can cause us to fall into the grip of depression, pulling us away from those we love and shuttering our ability to deal with everyday life. To underestimate the problem, or blow it off with a, hey, shrug it off and bounce back mentality, is a mistake.

I know this because I have suffered defeat in this valley in years past. Yet, I also know there is a way to overcome anxiety. I know first hand that you can emerge on the other side of depression and dread, and live to tell about someone who is more powerful than whatever has a grip on you. I am not offering a quick fix, nor a promise that you will escape the fight. But I’d like to tell you about a champion, a giant-slayer, who is on your side in the battle.

I have heard stories of others struggling with anxiety that sound similar to mine, yet every person’s battle is different and every experience is unique. A “one-size-fits-all” approach isn’t going to be helpful here.

But coming to terms with the formidable size of this giant in no way diminishes the promise of God—you can live free from the demoralizing grip of anxiety.

It’s imperative for you to know that you are not standing helplessly alone in your valley. God Almighty is with you and he is fighting for you. In fact, he’s already taken on every “Goliath” and won!

Psalms 73:26

“My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.”
