On Thursday, August 6th, four intrepid campers enjoyed Zion's "You are the Light of the World" day camp. The campers enjoyed being of service to others by mixing up cookies to take to First Responders and our families; delivering cookies they made to First Responders at the Lincoln County Ambulance Office; painted Friendship Rocks to share with family and friends; made braids for PALS animal shelter dogs to play with.

Yesterday at Zion United Church of Christ in Troy Missouri, we celebrated Youth Sunday. The confirmands and Zion Kids worked together to create the worship service.
Zion Kids shared the scripture and some special music. As part of their day camp earlier this month, their focus was service to others. During day camp they painted rocks to give to friends, made braided toys for the cats and dogs at PALS, and cooked up some treats for the workers at the Ambulance District.
The Confirmands shared what they hoped to learn about Jesus and God and how they can be of service to others as part of their Confirmation journey. The confirmation class consists of three boys and not surprisingly they are all into baseball and football and all three are in band playing the flute, clarinet, and percussion. The Confirmands also provided special music.
Our young soloist sang "This Little Light of Mine" and the Confirmands played "Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee".
The service ended with the Confirmands being presented their Bibles and the Zion Kids each received a backpack.
It was a joy to celebrate the worship service with our youth.

I'm feeling confident and I was educated and ready to post Pastor Jay's final service with us, featuring his official release. Sadly, when I found the video file there was an error message and the file indicated "0 Bytes" were saved.

It was a good service and we do wish Pastor Jay the best in his new ministerial position.

During this time of transition, we will be pausing the video services until a new minister is in place.

Today was our last day of worship with Pastor Jay. The congregation officially released him so he can continue on to his next ministerial calling. After worship we held a farewell reception with cake, ice cream, and strawberries.

I will be posting today's worship service as soon as I improve my tech skills to actually post a YouTube video to Facebook
