Today’s Blog: Forgiveness Does Not Mean Tolerance
📖 John 8:11
“She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.”
📖 John 5:14
“Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.”
❤️ FORGIVENESS DOES NOT MEAN APPROVAL
Jesus forgave people of their sins and offenses; however, He did not condone or tolerate sinful or wrong behavior.
Notice His words:
“Go, and sin no more.”
Jesus warned people against continuing in behavior that was inconsistent with God’s Word. Forgiveness did not mean there would never be consequences for continuing in wrongdoing.
God expects us to change our ways and turn away from behavior that is contrary to His Word.
🕊️ FORGIVENESS DOES NOT REQUIRE YOU TO ACCEPT MISTREATMENT
The people of God are not called to condone, excuse, or pacify wrong behavior simply in an attempt to “keep the peace.”
We are not taught by the words of Jesus that we must continually give people permission to mistreat us.
Born-again believers are free from the hand and control of the enemy and his works of darkness.
Just because someone chooses to offend or sin against you—even repeatedly—and you choose to forgive them does not mean you must permit the offense to continue or give them unrestricted permission to mistreat you.
You can forgive and still establish boundaries.
You can forgive and still say, “This behavior is not acceptable.”
You can forgive without participating in someone else’s wrongdoing.
📖 WHAT DOES THE WORD SAY?
Matthew 18:21–22
“Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.”
Forgiveness keeps your heart free. It does not make wrongdoing right.
📖 Ephesians 5:11
“Take no part in and have no fellowship with the fruitless deeds and enterprises of darkness, but instead [let your lives be so in contrast as to] expose and reprove and convict them.”
💡 WHAT DOES “REPROVE” MEAN?
To reprove is:
• To expose what is wrong
• To show that it is wrong
• To reveal its true character
• To bring it into the light
We are called to walk in the light—not accommodate darkness.
👑 REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE
Child of God, you are the light of the world and the salt of the earth.
You are free!
Live in that freedom and peace every day, in every way.
Christians are not called to be doormats. We are sons and daughters of God—kings and priests, heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ Jesus our Redeemer!

Forgiveness releases the offense from your heart.
It does not give the offender permission to continue the offense.

STOP TOLERATING WHAT GOD HAS FORBIDDEN!
