We are grateful to have K.O. back in the pulpit today after being gone for 2 weeks. The whole family went to Ghana to celebrate his mom's 80th birthday. It was also a family reunion that included his siblings and their families. He said it was a joyful trip and included much "storytelling!"

EJ was our candle lighter today and did a great job. I was introduced to him a couple of years ago. About 6 months later he came up to me and said "Hi Sue!" Ususally we are encouraged to remember children's names at church so they will know that we care about them, But what a great feeling it was to know that a young person remembered my name! Thanks, EJ!

This is most of Westminster's "Let's Help" crew. We have served twice this month because we also do it when there are 5 Fridays in a month.Today it was ham and potatoes, peas, fresh cherries oranges and a roll. Our most illustrious member is Lue Anderson (96 years old) who has been volunteering at Let's Help for decades!

We celebrated our last MOMS for the season on Memorial Day. It was a winner...grilled burgers, beans, potato salad, cookies and red, white and blue ice cream. It was our biggest crowd (almost 70). Huge thanks to all the volunteers who have helped out over the 13 months we have served meals on Monday nights. We feel like Westminster is making a difference.

It's part of Westminster's Pentecost tradition that the Bagpipers begin our worship service.. We are especially fortunate that Bill and Sharon Read attend Westminster. They also help in many other ways. The "Pipers" had another event tonight, but Bill came to the church afterward to help wash dishes after MOMS (Meals on Mondays). Notice the second picture...Bill said the Pipers are wearing "hose" or stockings. It was later in history that women wore hosiery and the word became more associated with female attire.

We celebrated Pentecost today with colorful streamers generating "wind" and the congregation wearing "red." Of course there was the traditional cake for Pentecost, beautiful music and a sneak peek from many years ago when Ermilou, Gail Kenefake, Renae and Lauren served the Pentecost.cake. Thank you to Thad Holcombe for filling the pulpit.
