After 12 blessed years with our parish family, we prepare to say goodbye to the Very Reverend Father Larry Legakis, Presvytera Jenny, and their children Nicholas, Vasilia, and Lukia as they begin a new chapter serving at St. John Greek Orthodox Church in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
When they first arrived, their children were still very young, and together we have shared so many milestones in the life of our community. During Father Larry’s years of service, we weathered COVID, we witnessed the Renovation of Holy Trinity’s Cathedral, and through his leadership, we experienced continued growth and the strengthening of our spiritual family.
Through baptisms, weddings, feast days, quiet prayers, joyful celebrations, and difficult moments, Father Larry and his family have walked beside us with love, faith, humility, and dedication. They have become deeply woven into the life of our cathedral, and it is hard to imagine our parish without them.
While we are saddened to see them leave, we are also grateful for all they have given to our community and excited for the blessings they will bring to their new parish. We ask everyone to keep Father Larry, Presbytera Jenny, and their family in your prayers during this transition.
Please mark your calendars as we say goodbye to the Legakis Family at a Church wide picnic on Sunday, July 19th.
On Sunday, August 2nd, we will joyfully welcome our new priest, Fr. Jon, along with Presvytera Elyse and their children, Demetri and George, as they join us for their first service with the Holy Trinity community! A special coffee hour will follow as we gather in fellowship to greet them.
More details will be shared in the coming weeks for both events.
❤️ Let’s take a walk down memory lane. Please share your well‑wishes in the comments. If you have photos you’d like to share, feel free to send them to us on Facebook Messenger — we’ll be sure the Legakis family sees them!
