This Sunday, we begin a new sermon series through 1 Timothy called “Entrusted: Guarding the Gospel in Every Generation.” Pastor Kyle kicks things off with, “Guard the Gospel”. We will see Paul’s charge to Timothy to stand firmly against false teaching while allowing the truth of the gospel to produce lives marked by love, holiness, and sincere faith. Paul reminds us that the gospel is not something we only believe—it is a precious message that has been entrusted to us and must be faithfully guarded and passed on to the next generation. Join us Sunday, in the Upper Fellowship Hall, as we are challenged to guard the gospel, live the gospel, and keep the light of Christ burning brightly for those around us.

What if everything about our worship looked right on the outside, yet God was not pleased? This Sunday, we will close out our series, The Heart of Worship, by exploring Amos 5:18-27, where God confronts His people with a sobering warning about compromised worship. Seeing as we have already studied what worship is and how we can please God with our worship, we will also talk about how we can put this into practice. How do we refrain from compromised worship when life is easy? What about when life is hard?

This Sunday, we invite you to join us for a special Music Sunday as we celebrate one of God’s gracious gifts to the church: the privilege of singing our faith together. Singing is not just something we do to fill time before the sermon—it is a ministry we share with one another. When we lift our voices together, we proclaim the truth of God’s Word, remind one another of the gospel, strengthen weary hearts, and express the unity we have in Christ. Every member has a part in this ministry! Our singing helps build up the body, and hearing the voices of our brothers and sisters reminds us that we do not follow Jesus alone. In fact, singing together is one of the ways we disciple and encourage one another as the church. So “come, we that love the Lord” and add your own voice to the joyful song of God’s people as together we lift high the One who has redeemed us.

Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” These simple words of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount reveal the heart of worship: the devotion of the heart to that which it values above all else. This was true for the worshippers of Baal in the Old Testament as well as of Artemis in Ephesus. It’s still true today for the millions in our own country who worship their material possessions. In the same way, true worshippers of Jesus are those whose hearts testify, “He is my priceless treasure.” Join us this Sunday as we study the Scriptures in pursuit of godly worship.

As we conclude our “Family of God” series, we turn to Genesis 45:1–15, where Joseph reveals himself to his brothers and chooses forgiveness over revenge. Recognizing God's redeeming work through his suffering, Joseph extends grace and restores broken relationships. His example reminds us that true leadership reflects God's heart by pursuing forgiveness, reconciliation, and peace. In the end, peace within families and communities is the fruit of forgiveness and the lasting outcome of God's redeeming work. We look forward to welcoming Brian Barr (director of Camp Men-O-Lan) who will be guest preaching.

This Sunday we pick up Joseph’s story down in Egypt, where he has been living as a slave in the home of Potiphar. Genesis 39 teaches us that moral integrity requires decisive action, as Joseph flees temptation rather than compromising his character. It also reveals that doing what is right does not prevent unjust suffering, and that God's presence remains constant even when circumstances take a turn for the worse. As popular culture becomes increasingly permissive of all kinds of wickedness—sexual immorality in particular—the Lord’s people today must fix their eyes on the true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy things of God’s Kingdom. Maranatha!

This Sunday in our series The Family of God, we will continue through Genesis with "The Fracture of a Family" from Genesis 37. As we look at Joseph and his brothers, we will discover how wounds, jealousy, and misplaced priorities can create fractures within even the closest relationships. This passage invites us to examine not only the relationships within our own families but also the story our lives are telling to those around us. While Genesis 37 is filled with brokenness, it also points us toward the faithfulness of God, when He seems silent. Join us as we explore how God works through fractured families and imperfect people to accomplish His greater purposes.

Last week we saw firsthand the extent to which favoritism, self-interest, and conniving deceit can drive a family into relational and spiritual dysfunction. After stealing his twin brother’s birthright blessing, Jacob escapes Esau’s murderous fury and seeks refuge in Harran, in his uncle’s house. For twenty years, however, Jacob gets a taste of his own medicine as Laban deceives and cheats his nephew. This week we pick back up Jacob’s story as he journeys home preparing for the worst, to face his brother. What takes place that night as Jacob is alone on the banks of the Jabbok has been called “one of the most important events in the history of human redemption”. God wrestles with Jacob until daybreak, leaving him forever changed. With a limp and a new name the Heel-catcher becomes the “Prince of God.”

This Sunday we move away completely from Abraham into the life of Isaac. The first thing we observe is dysfunction in the family. As we look at the root of it, we notice God's chosen ones (Isaac and Jacob) are at the heart of it, all the while bringing about God's purpose! We know the Bible was written in part to show us who we are ( James 1: 23-25). If the account of Isaac, Rebecca, Jacob, Esau and many others were omitted, the writers of scripture would have been considered unfaithful. But, the ongoing account of the patriarchs is a love story of God for them unmatched by any other in the Old Testament! This Sunday I pray we will come to appreciate God's love and grace displayed under the old covenant. It's in plain view under the new, but the hope of God's people has always been, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." ( Hebrews 13:8)
