Good morning and welcome to worship! Today we are blessed to have a team from Rockford Baptist Church in Rockford Michigan join us. This week they ministered to our church and the Sumas community helping with flood relief projects. We will hear from them and also have a devotional from Pastor Chad. In Loving Memory
Geri Carlson
January 1, 1942-May 24, 2026

What a shock when Geri passed away in her home on Saturday, May 24. She will be missed. A Graveside and Memorial Service is planned for Sunday afternoon, June 28, at the Sumas Cemetery and the Sumas Advent Christian Church. More information will be coming.

Her obituary at Gillies Funeral home:
Geraldine was born on January 1st 1942 in Pine City, Minnesota to Lillian Bernice Livingston and Richard John Behrendt both deceased.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Allen Carlson (‘Al’), born on August 14, 1938 in Ogilvie, Minnesota; passed on June 4, 2025.

All three of Geri and Al’s children survive them: Charles Allen Carlson, Jr. (‘Chuck’), Geri Carlson Sjoquist (formerly ‘Geris’), and Ricky Wallace Carlson (‘Rick’).

Geri is survived by her two sisters, Lynn Gill (Duluth, Minnesota) and Patricia Lundgren (Minneapolis, Minnesota) and two brothers, Darrel (‘Mickey’) Behrendt and Dennis (‘Denny’) Behrendt, both deceased.

Geri was fond of telling people that they were her ‘favorite.’ She was known as ‘the cookie lady’ at church. Geri loved and thoroughly enjoyed her dogs. She was lovingly cared for by April Anderson of Sumas Advent Christian Church in her final days. Geri’s irascible sense of humor will be missed by her friends and family.

No Thursday morning Bible Study on May 28. Several will be going to the memorial service for Oscar DeVries at 11:00 at the Nooksack Valley Reformed Church instead. We'll resume the Bible Study again on June 4 and go through June 18 before we break for the summer. Pastor Carl
