This Sunday, March 29th, is Palm Sunday, which marks the beginning of Holy Week. As we move towards the celebration of Easter, and the joy and hope of Christ's resurrection, we want to also take time to consider the significance of the final days of Christ's earthly ministry and His crucifixion.
To do this, Holy Cross will hold two additional services this coming week- Maundy Thursday, and a Tenebrae service on Good Friday.
Join us on Thursday, April 2nd, at 6 PM for a special Maundy Thursday service. The name "Maundy" may sound unusual, but it comes from a Latin word meaning "command." In this special service, we will reflect on Jesus' command to love one another, given in the Upper Room. Together, we will spend time contemplating His gracious love and share in the celebration of communion as a church family. We hope you’ll join us for this time of worship and reflection.
Tenebrae is the Latin word for “shadows.” Our Tenebrae service (Friday, April 3rd, 6pm) is meant to recreate the emotional weight of the final hours of Jesus’ life. We cannot experience the joy of Easter morning without the sorrow of Friday night. We hope you will make plans to join us.
