Wonderwell is a Buddhist retreat center, nestled in the hills of the New Hampshire, 2 hours outside of Boston. We offer meditation and Buddhist group retreats and private solo retreats. Our teachings and practices emphasize the innate wisdom and compassion of one’s inherent being, as taught and transmitted via the Tibetan traditions of Mahamudra and Dzogchen. Within this context, our areas of focu

s include transmitting lineage teachings; developing practices in and with the natural world; exploring the power of the divine feminine; and connecting with the innate wakefulness of the body as our vehicle to liberation.

You're invited to join us for Dharma at the Movies: Chasing Buddha
Wednesday, October 11, 2023 7-9 pm ET, Online via Zoom

The Dharma at the Movies event this month will highlight an Australian ex-Catholic, ex-political activist and feminist, Robina Courtin who has been a Buddhist nun since 1978.

Teaching Buddhism around the world, she shatters the stereotype of a Buddhist nun, her intense and direct style leaving an indelible impression on everyone she meets.
In the heart of America’s bible belt, Robina visits Kentucky State Penitentiary, guiding death row inmates and others on the path to enlightenment. Determined to harness their minds and deal with their violent crimes, they inspire Robina to work even harder at her own rigorous spiritual practice.

A bold, powerful, multi-award-winning film from internationally acclaimed filmmaker Amiel Courtin-Wilson, whose uncompromising films have screened at festivals including Sundance (Chasing Buddha), Cannes (Cicada, 2009) and the Venice Film Festival (Hail, 2011).

Wisdom and Compassion

Wonderwell Mountain Refuge is a Buddhist meditation and retreat center, dedicated to the cultivation of mindfulness, wisdom, and compassion in daily life. We are located in Springfield, New Hampshire, nestled in the green hills of the Upper Valley, surrounded by woods, meadows, gardens, and century-old stone walls.

Our stately historic main building offers a comfortable and spacious setting in which the transformative potential of meditation can be explored and realized. Wonderwell Mountain Refuge is owned and operated by Natural Dharma Fellowship, a non-profit 501-c-3 organization dedicated to the preservation of the teachings of Buddhism in the West.

While grounded in the practices and teachings of the Buddhist tradition, Natural Dharma Fellowship’s mission is enhanced by retreats at Wonderwell that explore the realms of contemplative care, social justice, secular ethics, and activism.
