Lydick UMC

Lydick UMC Come and find welcome where life in Jesus is not all about us! Worship with us in our beautiful sanctuary or on Facebook Live every Sunday at 10:00am!

We invite you to join us for a warm-hearted, relaxed service to experience God, sing His praises, join in prayers and giving. Our service includes special children’s moments as well as the pastor’s message of love, joy, forgiveness, peace and opportunities to serve God. We offer “blended” worship with a singable mix of classic hymns, gospel songs and contemporary choruses.

MAY 24 | THE BIBLE TELLS ME WHAT: CARE FOR THE SICK AND DIFFERENTLY-ABLED (sermon)

This week, we turned to John's Gospel, where Jesus heals a man who was blind from birth. Pastor Carolyn reminded us that every person, no matter their experiences or ability, are made in the image of God, and told us that Jesus' healing of the blind man wasn't for his physical healing, but for his spiritual flourishing.

We read about Jesus performing healing miracles throughout the gospels, clearing the way for active involvement for all. Healing is not always about being cured of a physical ailment or disease; it’s about being integrated as a vital member of a community.

🙏 Please join us in praying for our brothers and sisters at Trinity United Methodist Church in Madison, Indiana.

On the night of May 11, a devastating fire swept through the historic church, destroying much of the building. The steeple — the tallest structure in the city — remains standing, a powerful symbol of resilience and hope in the midst of loss.

The Madison community has already begun rallying around Trinity UMC, and we are grateful for every act of love and support.

If you feel called to help, you can learn more and donate directly to the church at the link below.

MAY 10 | THE BIBLE TELLS ME WHAT: CARE FOR THE MARGINALIZED AND OPPRESSED (sermon)

This week, we explored Psalm 82 and Pastor Carolyn explained how the psalm is directed towards powerful people who use others to gain even more power and influence. Even when the evil in our world seems to be winning, we were reminded that God is the ultimate authority, and God's love is the antidote to oppressive systems.
