Cabin Leaders’ survival backpacks! They teach Bible lessons daily that align with our colors of the day.

💜Monday is Purple Day and we teach how God created everything and He is the King who rules with love.

🖤Tuesday is Dark Day and we talk about how when we go our own way instead of God’s way, we cause harm to ourselves and others. We sin against God and are separated from him.

💛Wednesday is Gold day where we talk about God’s rescue plan- sending Jesus to save us from ourselves.

❤️🤍Thursday is Red and White Day. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, Jesus pays the penalty for our sins and wants to forgive us. By His blood, we are washed clean. Lastly,

💜🖤 Friday is Purple OR Dark Day. When we put our faith in Jesus and ask Him to pay the penalty for our sins, He becomes the boss of our lives. And when our faith is real our actions will change!

Our lifeguard team! The beach is one of the most fun locations at camp, they keep it safe and running smoothly. They run activities like pontoon boat, canoeing and teach swim lessons. Meet the Kitchen Team! This staff helps do all things meals, which is one of the campers favorite parts. We sit family style with our cabins so this team set tables, put out food, and then cleans up after in preparation for the next meal. Most of these people in this group support cabins throughout the day which is an opportunity for them to plug in with campers. They do hard and meaningful work all summer. Ray Bird Ministries use to be called The City Rescue Mission. We are thankful that for 107 years, no matter the name, the heart mission to serve children from South Bend has remained the same. Our theme this summer was inspired by this old logo.

These are the Girls Cabin Leaders! They will be with about 8-10 campers each week taking them to each activity, teaching daily Bible lessons, swimming with the kids and helping kids work together. Often the big moments is what the cabin leaders get credit for, but it’s also the small moments that kids remember like sitting with their cabin for each meal, cleaning their cabin together, and talking as they walk around camp. This past spring, trees were cut to prepare for the pavilion, new trees were planted along the road (shout out to Foegley Landscaping!!), benches were built, docks were put out, new lifeguard chairs were built, our road was re-done, and many more labors of love were done for this place and the mission to get camp ready for the summer! Also, listen so the satisfying sound of that tree coming down in the first picture.
