Slanesville Presbyterian Church

Slanesville Presbyterian Church SPC is very community minded and extremely family oriented, dedicated to public service. SPC is a small but dynamic congregation.

We're so small, we don't even have a telephone! (The number given is a congregation member's cell.) We are located just off Route 29 on Slanesville Pike, up the street from the Post Office, the Main Street Grill, and the Slanesville General Store. We have Sunday School at 9:45 on Sunday mornings, and worship services at 11 a.m. In months when there are five Sundays, the fifth is a hymn sing! Our Presbyterian Women & Men's group is active in good-deed-doing. Please feel free to join us any week!

Shoes, shoes, shoes!!

Our final weekend is devoted to the display and sale of an overload of shoes donated to a local charity!

The selection is mostly summer style footwear, so the charity is hoping to find homes for the shoes, as well as to use less storage space over the winter.

Sale is by donation - no prices are set - and all donations go to the charity (as opposed to our usual three-way split between SPCFP, HCMA, and Catholic Charities.)

Stop by today and tomorrow!

Friday and Saturday are our final Yard Sale Weekend!

We have the opportunity to help a local charity with distribution of donated items, so this is a shoe sale extravaganza!!!

Tons of shoes, some gently worn and most never worn, will be available on our pavilion!!! Many sizes and styles!!!

Pricing is by donation, in accordance with the Charity's bylaws.

After this weekend, we are closing down operations until our Book Sale, which should begin after Columbus Day/ Indigenous People's Day in October.
Watch this page for dates and times.

Two more yard sale weekends left!!!

Because of automotive issues, our Friday hours are changed to 8am - 10:15am.
Saturdays we're still here 9sm - 1pm.

At this time, the plan is to spend Labor Day through Columbus/Indigenous People Day organizing for the Book Sale.

Because of the volume of books, a sale over one weekend will just not work. The book sale most likely will extend over a couple of weeks.

Depending on the weather, it might take place on the pavilion, in our basement, or in our storage building.

If there is a specific book or author you seek, you can leave a reply and we will put it in our BOLO (Be On LookOut) Book, and notify you if it turns up as we organize.

Oh, no!!! The. BOLO Book has struck out!!!

A lady named Lori left a request for skirts in her mother-in-law's size. Three turned up, so I tried to let Lori know.

Both phone call and text to the number she gave say "unable to receive - Message Blocking Active"

Lori, if you see this, come by or call us! 304-822-0742

This is the final weekend featuring our huge donation of toys...all boxes will be emptied and sorted by close of business Saturday. ALL toys are 25 cents apiece.

There will be other tables of items new to the sale, and our BOLO book remains ready to record anything you hope will turn up in future donations.

Join us Friday and Saturday, August 14 and 15, from 9am to 1pm.

We still believe the Book Sale will open in October, but it may be a series of weekends rather than one big event. 3000 books are hard to organize!

Usually our pavilion shelters us from any rain during our sales, but today's thunderstorm blew lots of water into the floor and across most of the remaining merchandise!

We closed up shop as soon as it was safe to step out.

We'll be back next Friday.

Three and a half Yard Sale Weekends remain!

After that, the next six weeks will be used to prepare for our HUMONGOUS BOOK SALE.

My young helpers and I are still working on sorting out donations - you are welcome to come here and help us go through them.

We need to clear space so ANY ITEM costs only 25 CENTS!!!!

07/31/2026

Still working on sorting donations but the pavilion is far more organized!

Stop by tomorrow to see our offerings...pretty much everything is 25 cents apiece. Photos will be posted Saturday morning.

The sale will begin a little later than 9am - it's the first Saturday of the month, so we can't miss the 9am - 10am aluminum can collection at the Ruritan!
