Something to reflect on:
In the 1950's, a world-famous opera singer visited French ENT specialist Dr. Alfred Tomatis with a bizarre problem: he was losing his pitch and unable to hit high notes well within his normal vocal range. His vocal cords were completely healthy, yet his voice was deteriorating.
The diagnosis? He had deafened himself
Because the opera singer’s voice was reaching over 110 decibels (louder than a jet) inside his own skull, years of unamplified singing had damaged his hearing at specific high frequencies. Because his ears could no longer detect those frequencies, his brain stopped telling his vocal cords how to produce them.
This discovery led to the foundational law of audio-phonology: "The voice can only reproduce what the ear can hear."
As Christian's, if we become deaf to the voice of God, we can lose the ability to reproduce the voice of God!
