Thank You, Sitka!

The Salvation Army in Sitka would like to express our sincere appreciation to the volunteers from Sitka Lutheran Church who collected 517 pounds of food for our food pantry on Saturday, September 26. In addition, the drive received $754 in monetary contributions, which the church generously passed along to support The Salvation Army’s social services efforts in our community.

We are also grateful to AC Lakeside for supporting the food drive and providing a place for the collection.

We are thankful to be part of a community where churches, businesses, volunteers, and neighbors come together to care for one another. Thank you to everyone who volunteered or contributed!

The Salvation Army has Sunday Services at 11am.

This Sunday, August 30th, is a pot luck Sunday. Bring a side dish if you’d like- rolls, soft drinks or dessert. Not required tho.

Sunday service is for all ages. We provide “Jr Church” for ages 3-10 part way through the service, so both the parents and the children can hear the message. Jr. Church is a time where our youth can learn about Bible truths through art, games, creative worksheets, songs and so on!

If you’re curious about what The Salvation Army’s mission is, you can read it below.

The Salvation Army’s mission statement:
The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Hope to see you there.
