We memorize Scripture because it is good — because God’s Word is 'perfect, reviving the soul … rejoicing the heart … enlightening the eyes' (Psalm 19). We do it, as Reed Lessing points out, 'because the biblical Word connects us to the incarnate Word, the Word made flesh — Jesus our Lord, who comes for us and for our salvation.'"

📚 Throwback Thursday: Mrs. Bridges — Then & Now!

Some things change… and some things apparently don’t! 💙📖

In April 2008, Mrs. Kristy Bridges was photographed reading A Series of Unfortunate Events while teaching 3rd grade at SFLS.

Fast forward to today, and we had to recreate the photo — complete with the same book! Today, Mrs. Bridges teaches 4th grade and is starting her 20th year at SFLS! 🎉

When asked what she enjoys most about her teaching ministry, her answer gets right to the heart of it: “Sharing the love of Jesus.” 💚

Outside the classroom, Mrs. Bridges enjoys reading (clearly! 😉) and watching movies. She and her husband, Mark, have two sons, David and Eli.

Her favorite Bible verse is Psalm 37:4:
“Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

We are so thankful for Mrs. Bridges and the many years she has spent teaching, encouraging, and sharing Jesus with SFLS students!
