๐ค๐ To our Siouxland community, thank you for embracing Holy Trinity for the past 25+ years. Whether youโve attended every year or this was your first time, youโve become part of our story. To our sponsors, neighbors, friends, returning guests, and the many high school students who gave their time to earn volunteer hours, thank you. Your willingness to serve alongside us has helped this festival become what it is today. We truly couldnโt do it without you.
Yesterday was an emotional day for both of us. As everyone started arriving for their shifts, we looked around and realized that what makes this event so special isnโt just the incredible food, the music, or the dancing. Itโs the people. To every volunteer, baker, cook, dancer, musician, church member, and friend, THANK YOU. Thank you for the long days this weekend, the weeks and months of preparation, and for the decades so many of you have poured into this festival. Every one of us has jobs, families, children, responsibilities, struggles, and countless demands pulling us in different directions.
This weekend also reminded us of the shoulders we stand on. To everyone who came before us, the generations who taught our parents, to those who are still here but cant serve in the same capacity.. we hope you know how deeply you are loved and appreciated. You built this. You taught us. You inspire us. Every recipe, every dance, every tradition, every lesson, and every act of service lives on because you took the time to pass it on.
We missed Tim and Alex this weekend. Always the first to arrive, the last to leave, always willing to do whatever needed to be done. It wasnโt the same. Your work ethic, dedication, and love for this parish have inspired so many of us. Because of everything you have given to the church over the years, others knew exactly how to step in when they couldnโt be here. We hope you know just how much you were missed and appreciated.
Roger, thank you for being one of the people who had the courage to dream big all those years ago. Your leadership, creativity, and countless hours of hard work gave this parish the confidence to build something that has become so much more than any of us could have imagined. Your guidance, encouragement, and example continue to shape it every single year. ๐๐ป๐๐ป
Weโre simply the next generation entrusted with caring for something pretty special. And our hope is that one day our children will look back with the same pride we do today and continue what all of you started.
Thank you for everything youโve built over the last 25+ years and for inspiring us to carry it forward.
