Good Afternoon Everyone,
We just wanted to drop in and give everyone a reminder about Sunday's service to avoid some confusion. THERE WILL BE NO SERVICE SUNDAY AT CHURCH, WE ARE OFFSITE FOR THE PRIDE SERVICE. This weekend is the Pride festival in Sioux City, and as in years past, we will be doing a joint service for Pride on Sunday. This is being done with our partner churches, this year we will be hosting the service at the Sioux City Public Museum outside on the lawn in front of the museum. The service will start at 11am. The service is a joint effort between First Unitarian, St Mark Lutheran Church, Mayflower Congregational Church, and First Congregational United Church of Christ. Please bring a lawn chair, and water for hydration and hats/umbrellas for shade. This is a great opportunity to see the other open and accepting churches in the community and meet our neighbors, we hope to see you there!
Following this Sunday, normal summer forums will take place in the basement starting at 11am. As a congregation we will need to start thinking about what we want the 5th Sunday in August to look like as we are the host church for this event. If we don't see you at church, maybe we will see you tomorrow at the Pride Festival (June 6th from 11am to 3pm) down in front of the museum. Thank you for all you do and your patience that last two weeks as we have had a different schedule from our normal routine, we look forward to seeing you soon, feel free to call or text me if you have any questions.
Happy Pride,
Carter Smith
