As we make our way home to Tennessee today on our 10+ hour journey, our hearts are full from an incredible week of worship, service, fellowship, and growth.

Our final full day of mission trip began with an optional First Light service along the waterfront, and it was absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed a short message and worship led by The Museum Band while watching the sun rise over the water.

The rest of the day was filled with everything we have come to love about this week: breakfast, group devotions, worship, mission projects, free time, dinner, Bible study, worship, church prayer time, and time spent building friendships and memories that will last long after this trip is over.

It is hard to believe this week has already come to an end. Our prayer is that the youth and adults alike will carry what God has done in their hearts back into their everyday lives. We pray that the faith, confidence, and passion for serving that grew this week will continue to grow once we return home.

I say it all the time, and I truly mean it, we have the best youth group a youth director could ask for. Watching these students serve others, worship boldly, encourage one another, and step outside their comfort zones has been one of the greatest blessings. I could not be more proud of each and every one of them.

I also want to express my deepest gratitude to our incredible volunteers, Amy, Amanda, and John. Thank you for your servant hearts, your patience, your flexibility, and the countless ways you poured into our youth this week. This trip would not have been possible without you, and I am so thankful for each of you.

Thank you to everyone who has prayed for us throughout the week. We have seen God move in powerful ways, and we ask for continued prayers as we travel home today. We can’t wait to share all that God has done through this mission trip.

Mission Trip - Day 4

Some of us started the morning strong by participating in a 5K! I am incredibly proud of each and every youth who challenged themselves and crossed that finish line. Their determination and willingness to step outside their comfort zones was inspiring to watch.

Today, we had the opportunity to serve at a church that is nearly 100 years old. Our team spent time helping clean up and improve their playground, allowing us to leave a small piece of God’s love behind through our work.

One of the sweetest blessings of this trip has been our camp host, Kylee. She is from Tennessee and attends UTK. From the moment we met her, she has been an encouragement and blessing to our group. It truly feels like a God-ordained connection rather than a coincidence. We are excited to know she will be just 20 minutes away from Seymour when she returns home.

After serving, we enjoyed some free time before gathering for dinner, Bible study, worship, and our church prayer group.

God is moving in and through the youth of Seymour UMC this week, and my youth director heart is overflowing with gratitude and joy. Thank you for continuing to pray for our students, leaders, and the lives being changed through this experience.

Mission Trip Day 3

Today was a day of serving and growing together. Our team spent the day working at a local food pantry, helping with cleanup projects and tackling a variety of outdoor tasks to support their ministry and the people they serve.

After a hard day’s work, we headed back to campus for some much-needed free time before gathering for dinner, Bible study, worship, and our church prayer group. It was a powerful evening filled with fellowship, reflection, and opportunities to draw closer to God and one another.

We are so proud of the way our students continue to serve with willing hearts and positive attitudes. Thank you for your continued prayers as we finish out the week strong and remain open to what God is doing in and through us. ❤️🙏

Mission Trip 2026 - Day 1 ☀️

Today was the beginning of an incredible week of serving, growing, and sharing God’s love!

Our day started with brunch together before attending worship at Seymour United Methodist Church. During the service, our church family gathered around us and prayed over our team before we headed out. We are so grateful for the love, encouragement, and support of our congregation.

From there, we hit the road toward St. Petersburg, Florida! Of course, we had to make a quick stop at Buc-ee’s in Georgia. It was packed, but the students had a great time stretching their legs and grabbing snacks for the trip.

This evening, we safely arrived at our hotel near the Georgia/Florida line and are settling in for the night before continuing our journey tomorrow.

We ask that you continue to pray for our team throughout this week:
• Pray for safe travels.
• Pray for opportunities to serve others well.
• Pray that each student and volunteer will be open to how God wants to work in and through them.
• Pray that our actions, words, and attitudes reflect Christ in everything we do.

Kelli shared with us that Friday, May 1 is the last day to write a note to the seniors. Boxes for each senior is located in the main hallway. Along with the boxes you can highlight a verse(s) in a Bible and leave a comment for each of our seniors. Take this opportunity to encourage them.
