Lutheran Ministry Services Northwest (LMSN) is a non-profit organization that provides pastoral and spiritual care to

individuals and their families in Seattle area hospitals, nursing homes, and care centers. LMSN is guided by the words of Jesus in Matthew 25:36, “I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’"

LMSN chaplains serve as a pastoral extension for all Lutheran congregations in the Northwest and visit all Lutherans who find themselves away from their regular spiritual support. Through a partnership of chaplains and volunteers, LMSN serves as an enlightened and caring community that is willing to address the issues raised by those in need of pastoral and spiritual care. LMS brings compassion, love, and understanding to individuals and their families facing catastrophic situations in their lives. LMSN is a recognized social ministry partner of the LCMS and ELCA, and is a member of Lutheran Services in America. WAYS TO SUPPORT LMSN

• Prayer! – We are a ministry that depends on God’s help!
• Checks, Visa, and MasterCard by mail. (See donation envelopes or “Simply Giving®” below.)
• Simply Giving® – Visit www.lmsnw.org Select the “How to Help” tab on the left of the screen. Under “Make a Contribution” select “Simply Giving®” (highlighted in blue and underlined) and follow the instructions.
• Thrivent Choice® - It’s easy. If you are an eligible Thrivent® member, go to www.thrivent.com/thriventchoice/resources. Enter your account number, and you will be given step by step instructions. Enter Lutheran Ministry Services Northwest to designate your Choice® dollars to LMSNW. You can also call Thrivent® at 1-800-847-4836 and ask for Thrivent Choice® dollars. You can do this quarterly, or you can do it once a year. However, you must manually direct your Thrivent Choice® dollars. They do not get directed on a recurring basis anymore.
• Pink Envelopes – Some churches have pink envelopes in their boxes of donation envelopes that are designated for Lutheran Ministry Services Northwest.
• Boeing and Microsoft have programs for their employees to designate contributions to charities. Lutheran Ministry Services Northwest is listed to receive from these companies.
• Estate Planning – Life insurance with the beneficiary being Lutheran Ministry Services Northwest. We rely on your support! Thank you for all you do! THRIVENT ACTION TEAM
• Thrivent® Action Team – Thrivent will support specific projects with a $250.00 “impact card.” Projects can include meetings (such as our annual meeting) and events (like the upcoming Oktoberfest for LMSN). Go online to www.Thrivent.com/actionteam. You can also call 1-800-847-4836. All you have to do is fill out an application. If your project is approved, Thrivent® will supply you with support materials and a $250.00 gift card. All Thrivent® members are eligible to apply.

Thank you to everyone who attended our gathering on February 15th, and thank you to Messiah Lutheran Church and Pr. Peter Elliott for their hospitality in hosting us.

We had a very efficient business meeting followed by an inspiring presentation from Rev. Dr. Mike Von Behren, President of the Northwest District LCMS. Stay tuned, because we will be posting a video of his presentation soon.
