The Hallows Church

The Hallows Church We are a gospel community that gathers to worship & scatters to serve in and around Seattle. Discover the difference Jesus makes in all of life in community.

We gather on Sundays for worship (9:00 a.m. in Edmonds -or- 10:30 a.m. in Wallingford, West Seattle or YouTube livestream). We meet in homes (or virtually) from Burien to Edmonds during the week to study the Bible, serve the city, and share life together.

It is with heavy hearts we are announcing the closing of The Hallows Church.

If you have been a member or regular attendee or a friend of the Hallows, we invite you to come to the final gathering on June 28th at 10:30am at our Wallingford building.

We recognize that a church closing can be disorienting and bring up mixed emotions. We want to honor the life of the Hallows together as we reflect on the beauty, the goodness, the evidences of God’s grace, and the fruit that has come because of this local church body.

While holding sorrow we also hold joy together knowing that Jesus’s Church continues on and is not contained to one local church body but extends across the globe and throughout time and will continue on into eternity. Resurrection comes.

If you have pictures or a reflection you would like to share with us from your time at the Hallows you can email [email protected]

Stand firm in the faith, stand firm in the Word

“Standing firm in the faith means standing firm in the word of God—studying it, knowing it, and choosing to believe it as true. Standing firm means building our house on the promises of Jesus, knowing that it will stand firm and not come tumbling down when storms come.” — Scott Parmely (1 Corinthians 16)

Reflections from a 12-year-old: "It was amazing to see how our church family provided for each other–especially in sharing the supplies needed to camp so anyone who wanted to participate in this trip could. This was especially meaningful to me, because recently in my personal Bible studies, I had read some verses that inspired me in how God desired for His Church to care for one another. In particular, that members who had enough were also providing for members who did not have enough.

After I read this, I prayed that our church, The Hallows Church, would be able to embody what God had envisioned for His church. I wasn't really sure how our church was doing this, but during the camping trip I happily saw that everybody was helping one another, and everyone was giving whatever they could so that everyone could have what was needed to eat and sleep, enjoy a meaningful time, grow closer to each other and worship our Heavenly Father. Seeing all this, encouraged and reminded me that our church is more than just people we may see once or twice a week, but instead we are a family that will always be there for each other."

She's right. It was a beautiful picture of people from different life stages, backgrounds and even housing circumstances coming together and "one-anothering" – sharing rides, camping equipment, meals, conversation, prayer, bikes, and words of encouragement. May the Lord continue this work in, among and through us!
