Queen Anne United Methodist Church/The Well

Queen Anne United Methodist Church/The Well We believe that a more just and compassionate society can be built, in part, through conversation in community over time. Our podcast is The Well QA.

Our Sunday worship services are at 10:30 AM in person and via ZOOM. Everyone in worship needs to be masked properly. Groups using our facility have the choice of going mask optional. A local congregation offering "intimate space, big conversation" by bringing some of the world's most interesting speakers, teachers, Bible scholars, scientists, authors, dreamers, and activists. Our goal is four fold

:
1. Offer the wider community a safe and generous place to dialogue about issues that confront us locally, state-wide, nationally, and globally.
2. Function as a Center for Spiritual Formation for Christians who yearn for deep spirituality and a challenging faith.
3.Offer clergy a place to learn, pray, and be revitalized.
4. Grow a new monastic community and offer ongoing small worship and prayer services.

A pastoral word from Bishop Cedrick Bridgeforth in the aftermath of the Seattle Center shooting. Over the next few days, Queen Anne UMC and The Well will be taking part in vigils and prayer services to express sorrow and care for our community.

We will also be working with area faith leaders to offer a prophetic word on the grip that violence has on our culture.

There is a faith walk and Compline service at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Wednesday. The walk begins at 6:30 and the prayer service begins at 7:30. We will invite people as other ways of showing up with love are planned.

Lord, have mercy on us as we find ourselves in this space of grief once more. At least three people are dead, four more are injured – including one toddler – as these words are typed. Another shoot…

Queen Anne showed up at the PNWUMC Annual Conference.

Joey Lopez authored two pieces of legislation that were passed. One provides funding for the Church Council of Greater Seattle. The other supports the liberty and rights of Trans people, especially kids in Washington State. He was also elected a reserve delegate for Jurisdictional Conference.

Bruce W was selected to serve on the board for Bayview, a retirement community here in the neighborhood.

James Potts served on the worship design team for the conference.

Rev. Joe Lee, former member and dear friend of the congregation, also worked on the worship design team and led the music. Tomorrow he will be ordained a deacon.

Our presence extended beyond this, though. Former member Rev. Gayle Tabor flew in from North Carolina for the conference. Rev. Lisa Ishihara, Rev. Katie M Ladd, and Rev. Kay Barckley were also present.
