Cathedral Day is coming! Episcopalians throughout the Diocese of Olympia are invited to join us at St. Mark’s Cathedral on April 25th. The Rt. Rev. Phil LaBelle will be confirming, receiving, and reaffirming individuals from congregations throughout the diocese. The liturgy is followed by festivities, food, and a time to be together as part of our “family reunion” at our cathedral.

Please join us in welcoming the Rev. Kelly Moody, who has been called to serve as curate at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Seattle . Kelly will begin that call on July 20, 2026.

Originally from Nashville, Kelly moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2003 with her husband, Jacob. After majoring in Spanish and Psychology at Furman University, she completed a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Puget Sound in 2007 and began her career as an occupational therapist in hospitals, clinics, and schools in the area. Kelly found her way into the Episcopal Church in Seattle and was confirmed in 2015. She eventually paired her OT work with part-time ministry at Saint Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral (2017-2021), and later St. Michael and All Angels in Issaquah (2021-2022), supporting spiritual formation for people of all ages as she discerned a call to the priesthood. Kelly graduated from the School of Theology in Sewanee in 2025 (MDiv), and was ordained a priest in Seattle that same year. She began her first ordained call at St. Mark and St. Paul, Sewanee, where she serves as a member of the clergy while completing coursework for an advanced degree in biblical studies, focusing on Second Temple texts. Her thesis will explore cultural context as an exegetical and hermeneutical key. Kelly and Jacob are proud parents of three teenagers in college and high school: Micah, Leah, and Will.

Lynette Jennifer Douglass
June 29, 1947 + March 20, 2026

Friends,

I write with the news that Lynette Douglass died peacefully this afternoon, with her friends and caregivers, Janice and Kevin Holmes, by her side. Though she was sad that her life was ending, Lynette said often in her final days that she was at peace with God, and deeply grateful to her faith community at St. Paul’s for being her companions for many decades. Lynette was an inspiration to many people. She led a challenging life in a world that did not always welcome her, and in all of her struggles, her faith was genuine, and her gratitude for God’s blessings ran deep in her spirit.

We will announce funeral and burial arrangements soon. Please keep Lynette in your prayers, and pray also for all who love and care for her.

Faithfully,

Stephen+

This week’s Lenten formation will be a tactile, contemplative session centered on the ancient Hesychast tradition and the “Prayer of the Heart,” also known as the Jesus Prayer. Damon Yeutter will introduce the history of the practice and its roots in Eastern Monasticism, followed by a communal practice session using prayer ropes. Join us in the parish hall at 6pm tomorrow (Wednesday).

Prue Kluckhohn
January 19, 1942 - December 17, 2025

Friends,

I am sad to tell you that Prue Kluckhohn died peacefully this evening, surrounded by her family. She requested and received the final ministrations of the Church, and she died in the peace of God. Prue's life has been a consistent witness of self-giving love that nourished and sustained this faith community, and other faith communities blessed with the presence of Prue and Bob over the years. She evangelized us with her hard work, her loving heart, her common-sense wisdom, her deep knowledge of our parish, and her fathomless generosity of spirit. She will be sorely missed by all of us. Please pray for the repose of her soul, and for all who mourn.

Faithfully,

Stephen+
