What a heartfelt day today as we had the wonderful opportunity to show our gratitude by celebrating the ministry of our interim pastoral team over the last six months, Pastor Elizabeth and Pastor Kathy, and as we celebrated the wonderful musicians and great music program at First Church on this Music Sunday. On July 12th, we celebrate Pastor DJ's start with us through a welcome reception after worship. Today Pastor Kathy, our interim Pastor of Congregational Care, led us in worship as we continued our sermon series, “What We Need is Here,” inviting us to reflect today on how we find community in the church that provides a sense of belonging for each one of us, as we recognize how the unique gifts of one another are knit together so that together we may serve God and seek healing for our world.

We have been grateful, too, for the many gifts that our interim pastors, Pastor Elizabeth and Pastor Kathy, have brought to First Church over the past six months. Come, Spirit, Come! Happy Pentecost Everyone! We celebrated the gift of the Holy Spirit and the Birthday of the Christian Church with a beautiful new banner designed by our First Church member, Isaac Pruden!
