University Unitarian Church

University Unitarian Church University Unitarian Church is a Welcoming Congregation, acting for love, justice and compassion.

Our Vision Statements:

We will create a more connected multi-generational community where all individuals welcome, value, and support one another and contribute to the common good. We will risk leaving the safety of known ways in order to open ourselves to experiences of awe and mystery and deepen our sense of gratitude and awareness that we are connected to creation. We will be responsible stew

ards of the gifts we hold in trust, endeavoring to leave a generous and sustainable legacy for those who come after us. We will vocally and actively oppose injustice and stand in prophetic judgment of all that would diminish the equality and dignity of human beings or harm the web of life. We seek partnership with those who share our goals and creative dialogue with those who challenge us in our search for larger truths.

UUC's New Community Garden
Thanks, garden volunteers! More opportunities below!

A team of UUC and Teen Feed volunteers worked on June 13 and 20 to create a "community garden" in UUC’s back yard. The crews built and planted "pizza garden" troughs, featuring tomatoes, peppers, basil, oregano, chives and green onions; and a ground plot with blueberries, broccoli, carrots and zucchini. Harvested produce will go to Teen Feed meal teams later this summer and into fall...

Annual Report from the Social Justice Steering Committee

Even before the 2025-26 church year began, Social Justice teams at UUC had expressed a desire to step outside their issue silos and collaborate by identifying and carrying out projects that would attract a large swath of the congregation. The Social Justice Steering Committee answered this call in the fall by hosting a "Revival" that was well-attended. It generated three projects designed to help us overcome despair and experience joy, centering love in our lives...https://irp.cdn-website.com/b484afaa/files/uploaded/SJSC+Annual+Report+2026+06+09.pdf

Juneteenth is more than a holiday.

It is a celebration of freedom, resilience, joy, and the enduring spirit of Black Americans.

On June 19, 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced that more than 250,000 enslaved people were free. That day became known as Juneteenth and has been celebrated ever since as a milestone in the ongoing journey toward freedom and liberation.

Today, we honor the generations who resisted, dreamed, created, built community, and expanded the promise of freedom. We celebrate the rich history, culture, and contributions of Black Americans and the legacy of hope that Juneteenth represents.

We encourage you to learn, reflect, and celebrate with the National Museum of African American History & Culture. Explore their Juneteenth resources at the link in the comments.
