community. care. connection.
Quest youth and families participated in the warmvember day of action for our first Sunday in advent - leaning into hope. There wasn’t a regular service. Instead, as a church we shared a meal, offered winter gear, made ornaments, and connected in conversation to build relationships with our neighbors. It was hope in action and a great day for our youth to be part of what it means to be a church.

“In the stillness of the quiet, if we listen, we can hear the whisper of the heart giving strength to weakness, courage to fear, hope to despair.” - Howard Thurman

Lamentations 3:22-23

On Sunday, Pastor Katey asked questions in our “Worship is” series about feeling. What have you been taught about emotions? About how to express your feelings? What about their place in the church or in your faith?

“Worship is an emotional encounter with the Divine. In worship we experience our emotions, but through our worship, we respond.” Grief, longing, hope, anger, worry, joy, celebration. Emotions provide a way for growth; not to be consumed or overcome, but to be spiritually empowered and to sense God’s presence with you.
