May 24, 2026 was a big day at St. Luke's. Our historic chapel, built in the 1920s was used for worship for the final time as we deconsecrated it in preparation for the construction of additional housing and new St. Luke's church space on our property.

The chapel has a storied history. In it, countless people experienced the power of God. It held baptisms, weddings, and funerals for generations. The hungry in body and spirit were fed the Body of Christ and a daily breakfast.

As the gospel was proclaimed; prayers offered for ourselves, the church, and the world; and Christ's body was broken and shared at the altar; the candles extinguished; and the altar stripped for the final time - we give thanks for all the saints who came before us and made St. Luke's what it is today.

We were grateful and honored to be the gathering place for the beginning of the 2026 "Immigrant" Justice Prayer Walk - a time of prayer, action, solidarity, and recognizing that we are all family.
