Quest Church worships together on Sunday mornings in-person and online (via youtube) at 10am. We seek to create a space of belonging, centering our connection to God and how it connects us to others. In the spirit of Malachi 6:8 we seek to "do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly" with God together. In addition to our Sunday services, we hosts groups and gatherings to deepen connection, spiritual

formation, and justice both locally and globally. At Quest, we welcome, honor, and celebrate all people—inclusive of race, ethnicity, age, faith history, economic status, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, physical and mental ability, and education.

TODAY IS THE LAST DAY to sign up for church retreat!! Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to retreat together into the woods and spend intentional time in play, wonder and rest.

Additionally, please note that next Sunday (August 30th) we will NOT be hosting service in Ballard or via livestream. Instead, we will be worshipping together at Cascades Camp as we close out our retreat. Meet us there or we will catch you next week for our normal services!

For the last year, Quest has hosted a weekly free art hour for people in our Ballard community before our Wednesday community dinner. We have been blessed to have some really amazing artists walk through our doors and now we want to give back.

So on Saturday, August 22 from 1-4 pm, join us for a Quest Community Maker’s Market: a market featuring art and handmade goods from Questers and folks in our Ballard community, including artists who join us for our weekly community dinner.

See what our neighbors are creating, meet the people behind it, and take something home that means something.

Proceeds will benefit the artists and Ballard Community Dinners!!

🚙Upper UW Parking Lot Closed
The UW upper parking lot will be closed this weekend for repairs. Please plan ahead if you usually park in this lot! Feel free to utilize street parking around the neighborhood as well the Trader Joe’s parking lot if needed.

After service on Sunday, August 16, join us for Speed Friending. Think speed dating, but for friends. Meet and connect with people in our church community you don’t already know. Whether you’re brand new or have been coming for years, join us for good questions, great people, and maybe a few new friendships.

Ballard Community Dinners primarily serve three demographics: anyone (housed or unhoused) who falls below the poverty line, marginalized communes, and isolated populations. If you would like to volunteer to serve at Community Dinners, you will have the opportunity to serve alongside and build connections with others in the neighborhood while living out our values of justice and compassion.

It is not too late to sign-up for the Church Retreat in a few weeks (Aug 28-30!!). Nearly 100 Questers are already signed up and we would love to see you there too whether you join for the weekend, for the day on Saturday or for our worship service on Sunday morning!!

The weekend will be moderately structured: we’ll come together as a community each day, with plenty of unscheduled time to explore, play, and breathe. Whether you want to swim, brave the giant slide and blob, walk the trails, or simply find a quiet spot to rest and meet or catch up with people you don’t see every Sunday, there is something for everyone.

We will also host our regular worship service at Camp Cascades on Sunday morning and invite any who don’t join for the retreat to come down and participate in worship on the scenic grounds!

Quest Church is looking for a skilled and dependable Contract Audio, Visual & Lighting (AV) Technician to support our Sunday worship gatherings and occasional special events. If you have experience with live sound, lighting, presentation software, and enjoy using your technical gifts to help create meaningful worship experiences, we’d love to hear from you.
This part-time contract position averages 10 hours per week, with most hours taking place on Sundays and occasional weeknight events. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, works well with volunteers and staff, communicates clearly, and aligns with the mission and values of Quest Church.

Responsibilities include:

Operating live audio, lighting, and presentation systems for worship services
Supporting special events and church ministries
Assisting with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
Collaborating with worship leaders and pastoral staff
Helping equip and train AV volunteers

Creative Arts and Justice Camp (CAJ) is BACK! Our theme this year is Compassion Camp: What Every Living Thing Needs! We will be exploring what all living things need to live—shelter, food, water, air, and community—and how they can have compassion for the living earth, especially their local ecosystem. All Preschool-5th grade kids are invited to join in this creative and connected time grounded in the words of Psalm 104. CAJ camp will take place over 5 Sundays from July 12th to August 9th from 10am - 12 pm (Check-in at 9:45) .

📖Bridge Summer Book Club
What does it mean to hold together faith, race, and what it means to be American? This summer, the Bridge Ministry invites you to explore that question together. Join us for a morning book club reading Shoutin’ in the Fire: An American Epistle by Danté Stewart. We will meet biweekly on Sunday mornings (2nd and 4th Sundays) throughout the summer from 9-10 am at Quest. The first meeting is THIS SUNDAY (no prior reading necessary)

It’s the perfect next step if you’re new to Quest, new to church, or just hoping to meet some friendly faces. It’s time for a summer of fun, sun and play with our Community Plays!

Sign ups look a little different this year. We’ve got awesome events across four tracks: outdoor adventures, sports & recreation, dinner parties, and creative hobbies. Just sign up for the tracks that match your vibe, then RSVP for the specific events you want to join! Tide pooling, bicycling, pizza parties, bug balls… there’s so many ways to connect this summer.

Space for each event IS LIMITED, so please only RSVP “yes” if you’re planning to attend. Once you RSVP, your event leader will reach out with all the details.

Bonus: complete our summer bingo board by joining events across all four tracks (plus some other summer fun)! How many squares can you fill in?

We certainly stayed fruity this weekend, Quest.

It was such a blast to walk in the pride parade with our church family and be a testament to q***r joy and living (r)allyship in our city!
