Everyone Belongs

Quest Church worships together on Sunday mornings in-person and online (via youtube) at 10am. We seek to create a space of belonging, centering our connection to God and how it connects us to others. In the spirit of Malachi 6:8 we seek to "do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly" with God together. In addition to our Sunday services, we hosts groups and gatherings to deepen connection, spiritual

formation, and justice both locally and globally. At Quest, we welcome, honor, and celebrate all people—inclusive of race, ethnicity, age, faith history, economic status, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, physical and mental ability, and education.

THIS WEEK AT QUEST (Happy Pride Edition) 
🏳️‍⚧️Pride Sunday Service
Join us at Quest at 10 am for a special worship service celebrating Pride! We will worship together, hear a special message, and then gather in the lobby to prepare for the parade with snacks, face-painting and poster making.

🏳️‍🌈Pride Parade
We are so excited to participate in the Seattle Pride Parade again this year!
Walking alongside our float in the parade is an opportunity for our church to bear witness to God’s inclusive and welcoming love through fun, silliness, community, and presence.
Participants must arrive between 12:30 PM - 1:15 PM at our designated staging area between Marion St and Columbia St on 4th Avenue. We will walk along the parade route and end at Seattle Center, where you can either head home or join the Pride Fest festivities. There is a walker limit of 100 Questers, so sign-up now!

🌈Parade Float Decorating Party
We need extra hands to help decorate Quest’s float for the pride parade and prep supplies for Sunday. Join us on Friday, June 26 from 5-8 pm in the garage for a decorating party as we get ready to go big for pride weekend. No special skills required, just a willingness to show up and have fun!

This past weekend, we honored Pastor Brenda Salter McNeil as she transitions from her staff role at Quest into her new title of Pastor Emeritus. To know Pastor Brenda — or Rev. Dr. Brenda Salter McNeil, depending on where you first met her — is to know someone who has spent her life pouring into the church globally while also being intimately present with us at Quest for the last 14 years. It has been the greatest gift to have her, and we are forever changed by the heart, soul, preaching, teaching, and wisdom she has offered and instilled in us. Join us in blessing Pastor Brenda in this new season, even as we continue to enjoy the privilege of her presence at Quest.

THIS WEEK AT QUEST (June 15- June 22) 
👫Speed Friending
Our church is full of incredible people, and chances are, you haven’t met most of them yet. So after service on Sunday, June 21, join us for Speed Friending. Think speed dating, but for friends. Meet and connect with people in our church community you don’t already know. Whether you’re brand new or have been coming for years, join us for good questions, great people, and maybe a few new friendships.

🪁Sunday Funday
Families are invited and encouraged to stay after service and connect with each other while kids play and make new friends! There will be activities for all kids and youth at the back of the Sanctuary!

☀️C-Play Leader Applications Due
Community Plays (C-Plays) are activity-based, social hangouts that are co-created to bring people together through community and play. C-plays can be centered around a shared interest, hobby, location, identity, or event. C-plays take place in July and August, either as one-time hangouts or recurring meet-ups. Applications are due 6/21 so get yours in now!

🍴Ballard Community Dinners
Ballard Community Dinners primarily serve three demographics: anyone (housed or unhoused) who falls below the poverty line, marginalized communes, and isolated populations. If you would like to volunteer to serve at Community Dinners, you will have the opportunity to serve alongside and build connections with others in the neighborhood while living out our values of justice and compassion.

🎉Celebrating Pastor Brenda
After 14 years of faithful service at Quest — and over 40 years of pioneering ministry in racial justice, preaching, and pastoral care — Pastor Brenda is retiring from her staff role. On her last Sunday, June 14, we honor her with deep gratitude and joy as we recognize her with the title of Pastor Emerita.
Join us during and after our Sunday service to celebrate her together: we’ll have a receiving line, cake reception, and bear witness to her faithfulness over decades and to us at Quest. We invite you to come with kind words, a card, or whatever helps you to express honor.

If you’re new to Quest, new to church, or just hoping to meet some friendly faces. You’ll get a chance to connect with others, hear from Quest leaders about ways to get involved, and discover spaces where you can truly belong.

We are looking for folks to lead a Community Play this Summer!

Community Plays (C-Plays) are activity-based, social hangouts co-created to bring people together through community and play. Some examples of past c-plays: biking, volleyball, hiking, music sharing, gardening, crafting, food tours, thrifting. There are so many ways to play! (C-Plays will launch and be open to join in July.)

Shirts are priced on a pay-what-you-can scale to make them more accessible for our community. If you are able to pitch in a little extra to help cover the cost for someone who cannot pay the full amount, we are grateful for that generosity.
