We are all shaped by our earliest relationships. This 3-hour seminar explores how early dynamics influence how we connect today, using Family Systems and Attachment theories. Couples will reflect on what first brought them together. Singles will gain tools and language for current and future relationships. If you’re in a relationship but only one of you can attend, we still encourage you to come.
Meet our facilitators:
Carlos Taloyo holds degrees in philosophy, psychology, theology, and a PhD in Clinical Psychology. He served as professor and Director of Clinical Training at George Fox University and now works in private practice. He’s passionate about psychoanalysis, group therapy, multiculturalism, and integrating faith and mental health. He also enjoys Pokémon GO, Old Fashioneds, and Louise Penny’s Chief Inspector Gamache mysteries.
Rev. Dawn Taloyo is the Associate Superintendent of the Pacific Northwest Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church. She holds an MDiv from Fuller Seminary with a focus in spirituality and spiritual direction. Through preaching, retreats, and spiritual direction, Dawn creates space for healing and spiritual growth. She lives in Salem with Carlos, and they have two adult children.
We love Carlos and Dawn. Dawn has been such a steady and thoughtful presence in our church planting journey. They bring wisdom, warmth, and deep care to everything they do. We can’t wait for you to learn from them.
