We’re excited to get Alpha underway tonight at 6:30. Please be in prayer for our neighbors as they come and engage with some of life’s big questions and work out their thoughts on Christian faith. We have 25 people signed up to join us over the next six weeks. We trust it’ll be time well spent!

O God, whose glory it is always to have mercy: Be gracious to all who have gone astray from your ways, and bring them again with penitent hearts and steadfast faith to embrace and hold fast the unchangeable truth of your Word, Jesus Christ your Son; who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, for ever and ever. Last night, during our Ash Wednesday service, our youth group (with the help of some other kids at our church) led an effort to put together 380 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for our friends at . Over the next two days, these sandwiches will be handed out to those who are homeless, hungry, and hurting in our city as staff and volunteers meet with our homeless neighbors throughout the city.

We’re excited to partner with UGM this year as we continue our efforts to be faithfully present to others in our city.

Thank you for joining us last night as we collectively marked the start of the season of Lent. This season prepares us to fully rejoice in the resurrection at Easter as we spend time in repentance and reflection, examining ourselves through prayer, fasting and self-denial.

Almighty and everlasting God, you hate nothing you have made, and you forgive the sins of all who are penitent: Create and make in us new and contrite hearts, that we, worthily lamenting our sins and acknowledging our wretchedness, may obtain of you, the God of all mercy, perfect remission and forgiveness; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
