This week at St. Luke's, the beautiful days of early June give us all an opportunity to take a deep breath and enter the season of Pentecost. During this season we reflect on the building up of the Church and God’s work in and through the Church to this day. Our paraments turn to green as if to mirror God’s growing Creation.
Next weekend, on Saturday the 13th from 10am-12pm, all are welcome to help in the growth of our Warren Memorial Garden, planting some of the red geraniums from our Pentecost celebration. Inside, at the same time, a Parish Clean-up day will be taking place; all are welcome to come lend a hand.
On Saturday the 20th at 10am, a Holy Hike will take place along the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail starting at St. James and St. George Episcopal Church, Jermyn, guided by Father Joe Sudano.
Remember on Sunday, June 28th there will be no 11am Sung Eucharist at St. Luke’s. Father Parry invites everyone to come up to the countryside at St. Mark’s, Moscow, for Bishop Kevin’s visit to our fellow parish.
Please see our website for our full weekly schedule, important announcements and upcoming events.
This weekend the Holy Spirit arrives for the Day of Pentecost. Our nave is decked out in red, including our memorial red geraniums decorating the chancel. Thank you to all who donated to this fundraiser! We will be celebrating Sunday morning with a full quartet of singers to welcome the Holy Spirit.
