There is a very specific playbook that gets pulled out the moment someone realizes that accountability is approaching and they have no legitimate defense against it. Attack the witness. If the person telling the truth can be successfully painted as unreliable, emotional, unstable, or difficult then the truth they are carrying loses its audience and the person responsible for creating it gets to walk away clean. It is not a new strategy and it is not a subtle one but it is remarkably effective in a world that is still far too quick to question the stability of a woman who speaks clearly about the damage done to her rather than questioning the behavior of the person who caused it in the first place.

But here is what that strategy cannot touch, the truth itself. Your instability is a label they invented to protect themselves and labels invented in panic have a very short shelf life when placed against the consistent and documented reality of what actually happened. Calling you unstable does not rewrite the timeline, does not erase the patterns, does not undo the damage that exists independent of whatever narrative is being constructed to minimize it. The people who were there know what they saw. The evidence knows what it recorded. And you know with a clarity that no amount of discrediting will ever fully reach what happened, how it happened, and who was responsible for every bit of it. Let them call you whatever they need to call you, your truth does not require their endorsement to remain completely and permanently real.
