Altus is a Latin word that has a number of meanings: high, deep, profound, deeply-rooted. Our choice of the name Altus for this group reflects our desire "that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith; that you, rooted and grounded in love, may have the strength to comprehend with all the holy ones what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpass
es knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God." Ephesians 3:17-19 The purpose of this ministry is twofold:* to bring together committed Catholic women from Northeastern Pennsylvania in order toprovide them with support, companionship, and spiritual growth; and* to provide these women with the opportunity to disciple other women in the Truth found in the teachings of the Catholic Church, through carefully chosen program offerings. Altus for Women reaches out to all women of this region, regardless of parish membership, level of Christian commitment or denominational affiliation. We seek to present the teachings of the Church in a way that the hearts of these women will long to surrender themselves to these Truths!
