What a weekend.
We have been praying for you and your safety, and while there is significant damage we are thanking God that we have heard of no injuries or deaths from the storm. It is always beautiful to see so many people loving their neighbors so intentionally in times like these.
Here are a few things we wanted to make you aware of:
WE WILL BE HAVING ONE GATHERING AT 11am UNDER THE PORCH THIS SUNDAY.
All are welcome and this will be a time of prayer and worship to give grieve, give thanks, and encourage one another as we navigate these days.
We have no idea how many to expect and will have the porch set up but if you want to guarantee you have a chair feel free to bring one. There will be no childcare, if you are in town bring them all along.

All events are obviously postponed until we have power back up and running. We will communicate in the days ahead about plans for the coming week.
We also want to say a huge thank you to our Walton County Emergency Management team and all our first responders. Join me in praying for their safety and peace in the days ahead as well.
Finally, our mission at Good News is to help people build their lives on the reality of Jesus, and a storm is a good time to remember what that means.
In Matthew 5 what we call the sermon on the mount, Jesus describes two lives built on two different foundations: one whose house stood through wind and flood because it was built on rock, and another whose house fell. The difference wasn’t the storm. It was the foundation. Whatever these days ahead bring, Jesus is still the firm foundation under our feet, and He’s still with us, for us, and in us.
