Wear something red this Sunday, May 24 to celebrate Pentecost!

The Day of Pentecost is one of the seven principal feasts of the church year in the Episcopal Church and is identified as one of the feasts that is “especially appropriate” for baptism. At the 8am service we will renew our baptismal vows and at the 10am service, we will celebrate Baptism.

Christians came to understand the meaning of Pentecost in terms of the gift of the Spirit. At both services, we will celebrate Pentecost in the model of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd's "The Gifts" presentation. During the service, you will be invited to reflect and light a candle representing a specific gift of the spirit: Wisdom, Knowledge, Understanding, Counsel, Delight, Awe, and Power. Catechist Vanessa Woods will be our preacher.

May 3 is the first Sunday of the month, which means it's time for Compline with Story and Sound, at 7pm.

Join us for an evening of meditative music by Andrew Elia and storytelling led by the Rev. Sarah Thomas. Trinity's hour-long compline service offers an experience of restful candlelight, electronic music, heartfelt and deep stories, delicious tea, and prayer.

We are overjoyed to welcome our very own compline sacristan and parishioner, Eva Braunstien as our storyteller. Eva is a philosopher and a scholar of Western mystical traditions, and she teaches Writing and Religious Studies courses at UCSB.

Come hear Eva's story and and enjoy the restful space of Trinity's sanctuary. All are welcome!

Join us for an evening of meditative music by Andrew Elia and storytelling led by the Rev. Sarah Thomas. Trinity's monthly compline service from 7-8pm offers an experience of restful candlelight, electronic music, heartfelt and deep stories, delicious tea, and prayer.

This Sunday, April 12, we are delighted to welcome Shannon Saleh as our storyteller. Shannon has been in Santa Barbara for over 30 years as a teacher and director of musical theater, acting, and the arts.

Shannon is looking forward to sharing an armchair across from Rev. Sarah as she explores the theme of God’s creativity and providence in a season of unexpected change and surprising healing.

Come hear her story and and enjoy the restful space of Trinity's sanctuary. All are welcome!
