Wear something red this Sunday, May 24 to celebrate Pentecost!
The Day of Pentecost is one of the seven principal feasts of the church year in the Episcopal Church and is identified as one of the feasts that is “especially appropriate” for baptism. At the 8am service we will renew our baptismal vows and at the 10am service, we will celebrate Baptism.
Christians came to understand the meaning of Pentecost in terms of the gift of the Spirit. At both services, we will celebrate Pentecost in the model of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd's "The Gifts" presentation. During the service, you will be invited to reflect and light a candle representing a specific gift of the spirit: Wisdom, Knowledge, Understanding, Counsel, Delight, Awe, and Power. Catechist Vanessa Woods will be our preacher.
