Elizabeth is from Phoenix, AZ and is a rising senior at Arizona State. This is her first year as a camp counselor at the Ranch, and she is so excited to help out! In her free time, Elizabeth loves photography, singing, going to church, exploring new areas, and hiking with her friends. Dean is excited to be back on the summer camp staff after last serving as a counselor in 2018. He and his family have been frequent visitors to the Life Giving Spring Monastery and Saint Nicholas Ranch for many years, so the decision to return and help the ministry was a no-brainer! He serves as an acolyte at the altar on Sundays and contributes his time to various young adult activities through the Metropolis. In his free time, he helps out at his family donut shop and loves to participate in recreational sports. A trip to Dunlap is always a possibility for Dean, and he’s ecstatic about giving back to a place he calls home!

Katherine is from the hot Phoenix Arizona and attends Assumption in Scottsdale! Having grown up attending Greek Orthodox summer camps herself, she is excited to serve as both a camp counselor and camp nurse this summer. Katherine is passionate about helping campers deepen their faith, build meaningful friendships, and create lifelong memories. She looks forward to supporting campers throughout the week, sharing in their camp experience, and helping make camp a fun, safe, and Christ-centered environment for everyone.

ANNOUNCING OUR 2026 METROPOLIS SUMMER CAMP THEME: The Camp Theme this year is “Come and See”. Through the Divine Liturgy, we are invited to enter and experience the Kingdom of Heaven on earth. The goal of this program is to see first hand how different aspects of the Divine Liturgy are purposeful, rooted in Scripture and expresses a deeper reality than what we simply see with our eyes. By the end of the Camp Week, as we stand in Liturgy together, we hope to deepen our understanding of what it means to be the Body of Christ who partake of the Body of Christ.

ANNOUNCING OUR 2026 METROPOLIS SUMMER CAMP FRIDAY NIGHT DANCE THEME: Get ready to travel back in time for our 1950s Dance under the stars! Campers are invited to dress in their favorite 1950s-inspired outfits and join us for an evening of music, dancing, and fun.

Think poodle skirts, saddle shoes, rolled-up jeans with white shirt, leather jackets, letterman sweaters, polka dots, bandanas, button-down shirts, cuffed pants, and classic 1950s hairstyles. Whether you come dressed as a rock-and-roll star, a diner regular, a greaser, or simply in your best retro attire, have fun and get creative!

Please remember that all costumes and outfits must remain within our camp dress code and be appropriate for all camp activities. We can’t wait to see everyone’s vintage style as we dance the night away! 🎶🕺💃✨

ANNOUNCING OUR 2026 METROPOLIS SUMMER CAMP TUESDAY NIGHT CAMPFIRE THEME: Join us for a magical Peter Pan themed campfire and come dressed as your favorite character from Neverland.

You can be Peter Pan, Wendy, Captain Hook, Tinker Bell, Mr. Smee, a Lost Boy, a pirate, the crocodile, or any other Neverland character you can imagine. Feel free to get creative and put your own twist on your costume!

Whether you arrive with a pirate hat, fairy wings, a homemade hook, animal ears, face paint, or an entirely original Neverland-inspired creation, we can’t wait to see your imagination come to life.

Please remember that all costumes must remain within our camp dress code. Costumes should be modest, appropriate for a faith-based camp environment, and safe for camp activities.

Come ready for an evening of campfire fun, adventure, laughter, and a little bit of Neverland magic.

ANNOUNCING OUR 2026 METROPOLIS SUMMER CAMP MONDAY NIGHT EVENING ACTIVITY: On Monday evening, campers will take part in Mario Kart Madness, a fun, all-camp activity that involves being part of a team of campers of all ages.

As a bonus, pack a few solid-colored shirts. The team colors will be red, blue, green, yellow, black, and white. (The shirts you bring can have logos on them)

Campers will find out their team color on Monday of camp, so having a mix of colors to chose from means they’ll be ready to show their team spirit, but it’s not required. We will provide face paint and other team accessories in each team’s color for anyone who may not have a clothing item for their assigned team color.If you don’t have one of the colors, black or white clothing works great as a base—it’s neutral and really lets the face paint and accessories pop.
