Capital Compassion

Capital Compassion To live as Jesus among the broken. Through word and deed, telling & teaching people about Jesus We have a wonderful history dating back to our beginning in 1916.
(1317)

Our forefathers have paved the way for what we enjoy today and we must never forget the sacrifice that has preceded us. We now take up that mantle and carry it forward to fulfill our destiny. With a solid foundation under our feet, we embrace the vision of “TO LIVE AS JESUS AMONG THE BROKEN. THROUGH WORD AND DEED. TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT JESUS AND HOW TO FOLLOW HIM”. We will celebrate our history and renew our passion to fulfill a God-given vision for the future.

Nearly 40 people a day came through our doors this week looking for rest, hope, and a fresh start.

One man arrived facing homelessness, addiction, illness, and separation from his son. Within one day, hope began to return and a path forward opened.

This is what compassion looks like in action.

Today we were blessed by the Natomas Rotary Club with 25 buckets that were filled with essential items for those experiencing homelessness. They include a backpack, gloves, hygiene kits, flashlight, tarp and more. We can’t wait to pass them out to those in need. We got an extra treat getting to reconnect with friends from in Sac too. Hearing stories of recovery and redemption. God is always going before us!

Jesus loves the one. ❤️ He loves you!

This week, we drove through neighborhoods searching for a woman experiencing homelessness because she had the opportunity to enter shelter, but no working phone to complete intake. By what felt like a miracle, we found her and got her connected. Now she’s on her way to shelter and a fresh start.

At the same time, supplies continue flowing out to refugee families, churches, nonprofits, and people in need across our city. Every donation is making an impact far beyond our walls.
Thank you for being part of what God is doing through Capital Compassion.

Together, we are reaching people with hope, compassion, and the love of Jesus.

What an incredible night at our first Capital Compassion Vision Dinner. It felt like family.

Because of that night, 40 new monthly partners joined the mission, we hit our goal raising over $250,000, and lives are already being changed.

This week, a young woman we’ve been walking alongside got a job. She needed scrubs to start, and a volunteer stepped in.

This is compassion in action. Loving the person right in front of us.

Tonight feels different.

We met these two guests the day they were released from jail. For the past six months, they’ve been doing everything they could just to survive life on the streets of Sacramento.

But tonight—they are resting in their own tiny home.

No need to steal.
No need to wonder how they’ll make it through the night.

They now have a safe place to sleep, daily meals, showers, and support through case management as they take steps toward permanent housing.

Life hasn’t been fair or easy—but tonight, it just got a little lighter.

Will you say a prayer with us?
For peace. For protection. For hope. And for a future that looks different than the past. 🤍

From prison to purpose.

Mathias stepped out of Folsom Prison alone… and within days, God opened doors no one expected.

Rehab. Restoration. Hope. A new beginning.

Love isn’t meant to sit still—it’s meant to move.

“Love cannot remain by itself… it has to be put into action.” — Mother Teresa

David came to us feeling alone—abandoned at 10 and facing homelessness at 30. But through love in action, everything began to change.

Now he has a resume, a job interview, and renewed hope. Most of all—he found a family.

Life change doesn’t always happen all at once—it happens one step at a time. Every day at Capital Compassion, we see lives impacted right in front of us: a woman finally ready to enter treatment, a couple moving from uncertainty into stable housing, a man choosing faith and beginning to rebuild his life. Each story reminds us that real change starts when we love the person in front of us and say, “How can we help?” Thank you for walking alongside us and making hope possible. 💙

Every day, people walk through our doors searching for hope — and because of YOU, they’re finding it. ❤️ From connecting a young man battling cancer to safe housing, to helping someone experiencing homelessness begin a faith journey, lives are being changed at Capital Compassion. And now, with our new mobile food pantry, we’re reaching seniors who can’t come to us. This is what compassion in action looks like. Thank you for making it possible.
