So I have been pretty consistent in saying that neither side of the political spectrum-- the conservative right or the liberal left-- is "God's Party." This is tricky, because God IS active in our political world, but God gives allegiance to no side. Now that said, only one political side in America-- the Republican Party of Donald Trump & Ron Desantis claims to be God's men. They are not. Such claims are profound blasphemy.

There is one Kingdom of God in the Bible and its "King/ Caesar/ President" is the humble man Jesus Christ who allowed himself to be shamefully executed by the government for being a traitor. Nations, such as America, can do good in this world; they can partner with God's Kingdom, BUT no nation on this earth-- including America-- is ever "God's Nation" in this broken world. The Bible is hard-- it is usually hardest on those of us who identify as "Christians" or "leaders," and Matthew 23:1-12 is brutal. Jesus has harsh words for our doing ministry as a piece of outward performance rather than love rooted in an inward transformation.
