Rev. Bup Il Gregory F. Sherburn has undergone four surgeries in one week's time: wrist, spine, knee, and neck...joints that were infected with Staph bacteria. He's feeling pretty rough. Right now the doctors plan on keeping him in hospital for a couple of weeks of rehab. He'll be on oral antibiotics for many weeks. Currently, he's not hoping for any visitors; in time, that will change. He's most appreciative of the well-wishes.

Rev. Bup Il Gregory Gregory F. Sherburn is in hospital at RO Corewell with bacterial sepsis, extremely serious condition. Had surgery yesterday on wrist, more was planned on his back but undergoing much further testing. His daughter held phone to his ear so he and I (Hae Doh Sunim) could speak; he is extremely weak. Please offer your own prayers and aspirations for healing, health and well-being. Om Bhaisajye Bhaisajye Bhaisajye samudgate svaha! 🤎🙏🙏🙏

Our 'three amigos' in group photo stand second row from top, far left: Bup Heng, Won Gak, and Hyo Jeok. In other photos, Haengja Bup Haeng stands in for left row. Like Waldo, see if you can spot him!

Arrival of Haengjas Bup Heng, Hyo Jeok (Israel) and Sunim Won Gak (transfer from another order) at Seonamsa, standing in front of the entrance gate, the One Pillar Gate (Iljumun). Phones now confiscated for the next month. Nothing but mind-to-mind transmission. 😉

Haengjas Bup Heng (USA) and Hyo Jeok (Israel) in their shared room in Taego headquarters. They leave at 8am Thursday Oct. 1 (7pm Wed here) via KTX bullet train for Seonamsa, jumping into the cauldron of formal training at noon. May the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas surround, envelop, and infuse all the trainees of this current class with strong intention, open minds, hearts of compassion and loving-kindness, and the will to manifest Dharma and Buddhahood for all sentient beings. ❤️🙏🙏🙏

IMPORTANT NOTICES:
There will be no meditation retreat this third Saturday of the month September 19. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Additionally, this will be the last Sunday that Rev. Bup Heng Alexander Coe will be in attendance for the next six weeks. He'll be in Korea at our Taegojong's Seonam Temple (Seonamsa) undergoing training for his monk (samanera) ordination. We invite you to be here to wish him well!
