An excellent, detailed talk on the nature of karma; on how the Buddha defined it, and its many misinterpretations and misconceptions.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Today, August 3, we remember and reflect on the death and entrance into the bardo (antarabhava) four years ago today of MWZ's Chin Won Jim Richardson (photo, right). Having become a Dharmacari (follower of the Dharma) in spring 2009, Chin Won (True/Pure Origin), from Cadillac, Michigan, was a proud graduate of Michigan State University, and in the tradition of Dorothy Day's Catholic Worker Movement, a believer and mover in social justice circles, community gardening and distribution and sharing with those less fortunate. Having relocated to Terre Haute for work, he continued his Dharma work there. We thank Chin Won in his always understated way of manifesting Dharma, for his humor, kindness, and investment in the well-being of others. Namu Amita Bul!

For those of you who may wish to donate to our Muddy Water Zen's special account for Rev. Bup Heng Alexander Coe's travel and training fees for his month-long stay leading to his ordination as a novice monk (samanera; sami) at Seonamsa monastery in Suncheon, Korea...here is the PayPal account, also to be found on the MWZ website.
'Dana' or generosity is the first of the Six Paramitas or Perfection Practices of Mahayana Buddhism...the offering of one's time, talent and treasure in the practice of lessening of self and honoring of other. Any gift will be most appreciated, and helpful. πŸ€ŽπŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

ANNOUNCEMENT!
Due to ongoing health issues and uncertainty in what lie ahead with Abbot/Spiritual Director Ven. Hae Doh Gary Schwocho, the clergy of MWZ (unbeknownst to the former) came together and decided that our Rev. Bup Heng Alexander Coe be sent to Korea this autumn for monk training and ordination. This is a necessary thing to happen to continue and further the mission and life of MWZ.

Obviously this will heavily impact the financial standing of Rev. Bup Heng, a self-employed landscape designer, training involving more than a month in Korea, loss of income during his time away, the cost of airfare, the cost of new monk robes and kasa, administration and ordination fees. Aside from your emotional and spiritual support, we ask for your financial help. Everything at MWZ is based on the Buddhist principle of 'dana,' generosity...visitors, lay persons, ordained Dharmacari, and clergy. Gifts are offered from the heart. The clergy are unpaid. We are here to serve. All that we do, all the time and energy invested is a gift of the heart. Rev. Bup Heng began his journey here in 2009. Formally ordained Buddhist (Dharmacari Dae Hae) in 2011, post seminary training he was ordained in 2013 Dharma Instructor (photo below), currently also serving as President of the MWZ 501(c)(3)Corporation.

Kindly consider your own donation towards this important moment in the life of MWZ. Rev. Bup Heng has to be in Korea the last week in September, staying until the end of October. Any gifts may be sent to the temple, payable to Muddy Water Zen (tagged for Bup Heng).
