The Center of
Enlightenment Choir

The CoE Choir has practices on the first and third Monday of the month. That means the choir will next meet on September 7 and 21. The Choir meets at 6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

Guest Rev. Kathleen Hellenberg does a great job preparing the choir for performances at Sunday Services throughout the year. Please contact Rev. Kathleen if you want to join the choir.

Higher Self Meditation

On Tuesday, September 8 from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Patty Shaw will be leading a meditation on various topics using techniques from Change Your Aura, Change Your Life by Barbara Y. Martin and Dimitri Moraitis from the Spiritual Arts Institute, Encinitas, CA. The meditations are on 2nd Tuesday of each month.

These meditations will focus on: Deepening the love in your relationships; Improving your career; Transforming destructive thoughts and emotions; and Increasing prosperity while teaching you how to become closer to God.

The cost is $5.00, and the money raised goes to the Center of Enlightenment.

Second Saturday Workshop -
Returning To the True Self

On Saturday, September 12, Rev. Carol Willis hosts Guest Rev. Brett Koon instructing us as we gently examine and release the beliefs which we have acquired throughout our life that limit us — and, in so doing, take the first steps on the journey back to the true Self.

The workshop is from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The cost is $60 for members and non-members.

Reiki Share
for Practitioners Only

People who give Reiki healings are always giving. This meeting is an opportunity for them to share and receive Reiki with their fellow practitioners. This meeting is ONLY for those who are certified Reiki I or higher.

The group meets on the second Sunday of the month, which will be September 13 at 1 p.m. in the Sanctuary. The cost is $5.00, and the money raised goes to the Center of Enlightenment.

Third Friday Fundraiser
Movie Night - Disclosure Day

On the third Friday of each month, we host a fundraiser for the church. We offer lectures with guest speakers, All Message Night, Healing Night, Game Night, and other activities. This enables all to learn more about our church. There are a variety of love offerings, so please check the website and our page. These community events begin at 7:00 p.m.

Rev. Lisa Argo will be hosting a Movie Night on Friday, September 18 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. She will be showing the Steven Spielberg science fiction film Disclosure Day starring Emily Blunt and Colin Firth.

We will be meeting in the Letia Woods Fellowship Hall, so please bring a snack to share and your own beverage. The love offering is $5.

Third Sunday Fellowship Potluck

Our monthly Fellowship Potluck follows services on Sunday, September 20. As always, the church is providing the entree. Please bring a side dish or dessert to pass that serves 8-10 people. If you have special dietary needs, please bring a dish that meets them and a sign saying what is special about the dish for the benefit of others.

CoE Drumming Circle

Starting Tuesday, September 22 at 7 p.m. and most 4th Tuesdays thereafter, Rev. Gina Hampton will be hosting a rousing, uplifting drum circle. There will be percussion available for those who don't own any of their own.

The cost is $5.00, and the money raised goes to the Center of Enlightenment.

The Board of Directors, ministers, and members usually meet each month on the fourth Sunday after services to conduct the business of the church which will be Sunday, September 27 immediately after services.

These meetings are open to all. Non-members are welcome and will have the floor for the first 10 minutes. Members are encouraged to come and have input into the decisions of the Board.

3rd Annual Spirit Faire Fundraiser

The Center of Enlightenment will host its 3rd Annual Spirit Faire fundraiser on Saturday, August 29, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 2724 Goodrich Ave., Ferndale.

During the Spirit Faire, guests will have the opportunity to have their aura photographed and interpreted by Aura Illuminations with Rev. Ken Bede, receive flower messages from Spirit with Rev. Elizabeth Brown, and discover important truths from Michelle Michael channeling Enos. Attendees may also connect with other talented mediums and readers offering insight, guidance, and messages from loved ones in spirit.

The event will also feature a variety of energy workers, including practitioners of Reiki, Direct Divine Light, and sound healing, offering guests a chance to experience different forms of spiritual and energetic support.

Admission is $5, with children 12 and under free. Each guest will also receive a raffle ticket usable toward our many donated prizes. For more information contact Rev. Lisa Argo at [email protected].

Board of Directors and Members Meeting

The Board of Directors, ministers, and members usually meet each month on the fourth Sunday after services to conduct the business of the church. Because of some scheduling conflicts, the meeting has to be moved to Sunday, August 30 immediately after services.

These meetings are open to all. Non-members are welcome and will have the floor for the first 10 minutes. Members are encouraged to come and have input into the decisions of the Board.

Sermon Writing and Public Speaking - with Rev. Keith Norton

Have you ever been asked to speak, but you turned it down because you were afraid to speak in front of people? Have you been inspired to speak, but you didn't know how to put it in a sermon?

If you are interested in learning and practicing to write and deliver a sermon, join Rev. Keith Norton as he teached you on Wednesdays August 19, 26, and if needed September 2 and 9, 2026 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The cost is $100 for members and $110 for non-members. This is a required class for the ordination program.
