Sacred Ground explores issues of Race, Justice, and Faith. All are welcome! The Group is a continuation of a program developed by the National Episcopal Church to explore the intersection of race and faith. All our encouraged to join the journey this year as we increase our awareness and work to become agents of change in our church, our communities, and the world. The group will begin meeting on September 15th at 6:30 pm in the Nichoplas Center at the church and on zoom. It is an eleven week study but we’ll meet every other week and break for the holidays.

We joined our friends this Sunday morning at St. Anskar Episcopal Church to celebrate the visit from our bishop, the Right Reverend Paula Clark. Our own deacon, the Reverend Doug Rogers assisted the bishop and proclaimed the gospel.

In response to an invitation from our Episcopal siblings at St. Anskar’s Church to celebrate the Eucharist with them this coming Sunday, Aug. 9, the Vestry has agreed to close Emmanuel for the day and shift worship to St. Anskar’s. Bishop Paula Clark will be the celebrant and preacher. Service time is 9:30 a.m. St. Anskar’s is at 4801 Spring Creek Road. Please plan to join us at St. Anskar’s for what promises to be a joyous celebration of the Eucharist – and of the ties that bind the wider church.
