Did you know that...
The Star of David, also known as the Magen David (meaning "Shield of David" in Hebrew), is one of the most recognized symbols of Judaism today? Before the 19th century, it was not considered an exclusive symbol of Judaism. In fact, you can find this shape in many other cultures, including Hinduism, Buddhism, and ancient Egyptian traditions. It wasn’t until the First Zionist Congress in 1897 that the geometric shape was selected as the official symbol of Zionism. The Star of David became internationally accepted as the symbol of the Jewish people after World War I.
We have a special Shabbat service planned for tonight! Our Religious School students will be assisting with the service and performing a skit. Following the service, we'll enjoy pizza and salad together. Services begin at 6:00 PM. Join us in person to show your support and appreciation for our students and teachers, although the service will also be livestreamed.
